What do they call it when she does it to the front? I love that step, especially when they wear tutus and they bourree to the front and their tutus shake....LOVE!

Just "straightish". Notice how the dancer in the video looks like her legs are just twitching a little bit? If you do it fast enough it should be barely noticeable you are bending your knees, but you DO need to bend them to be able to glide =)
@victoralfonsoruizgomez4510 жыл бұрын
Lupe Jelena Thank you, this is valuable information, my Mistress of Ballet also told me that is some adagios its even fine to noticeably bend the leg that is leading you. Thanks again, Lupe.

I usually practice it with an adapted piece of Aquarium by Charles-Camille Saint-Saëns, I feel so gay, and I love it.

So 'flowy' :-) Bourrees aren't painful for me, but when I'm doing a lot/going across the floor, etc., I tend to space out a little, so keeping focused and core engaged keeps the movement looking alive. It feels odd sometimes too, like I'm barely moving haha

God, that's beautiful! I *like* it that people don't realise that these are so painful to do - I don't think it would be very nice to dance for an audience who was thinking, 'Oh, that poor girl, let this end quickly, for her!' I'd much rather let them watch it and think, 'Let this go on for ever; it's so beautiful!'

It should not be painful. Your shoes may not be the right fit. Or you might be in the wrong make/model for your foot.

Sometimes also called "pas couru" by some ballet teachers, masters, and choreographers. If they involve rotation or turning, this would be "pas couru en tournant".

is it wrong if your knees don't bend??
@jqi88729 жыл бұрын
You're knees shouldn't "bend", but they should be soft so that you can move faster if the choreography requires.

i hate bourrees because i have an over arch and it's hard for my legs to bend and not go over the box at the same time :( any suggestions how i can move faster and not go over the box?
@bfetoile29555 жыл бұрын
You have to learn to manage your foot/arch. You are, most likely, sitting into the shoe and sitting into the arch of your foot. This is a common mistake for dancers with archy feet. Don't let the shoe do the work for you! Pull up and engage which will pull back the arch.
@vikikikiki110 жыл бұрын
It is not painful at all! One does not stand on bare toes. Instead, one wears special foam pads. In the end it is nothing but pressure on the toes.
@isha-zc4lj8 жыл бұрын
+vikikikiki1 all of your body weight is on your toes, its VERY painful.
@Bmoney9028 жыл бұрын
+Isha If all your body weight is on your toes, not your arch and ankle, then your shoes are wrong for your feet. You should be lifted up, not sinking down. Sinking down suggests a weak core. As a dancer about to move into pro training this autumn, I can say it's not painful. What is painful is after hours in pointe shoes, the sweat and friction can cause painful blisters. You can do things to prevent them but sometimes they just happen, with long rehearsal days and things. However for the most part, pointe is not painful. More numbing, in my experience.

Sew criss cross elastics on your shoe and tie the ribbons a little tighter. Ask your teacher what you should do... Maybe a harder shank will do...

Why do I find these moves so different from the rest of ballet moves? They look weird, non-human, Geisha-like. Not the grace and flow and nobility that the rest of ballet moves have. I mean the bouree per se, not their execution here, which is otherwise impeccable
