Two years on and still helping folks. Just completed this repair today and have my TV back in service for less than $30 bucks. I know most comments are old here, but for anyone feeling "intimidated" by this repair, just remember, you currently have a broken TV, if you are successful, you will have a fixed TV. If you fail, it's what? Brokener? You did not try just to fail, you tried to also learn.

I just found this TV by a dumpster and now im gonna fix it. Same problem as this TV. Thank you for the video

Can you add the link where to get the new set up led strips

My led lights just worked today... I tested the caps and have had TVs that just needed a capacitor changed to power the leds/ back lighting. It would be Easter to cut holes in the back of the plastic fake metal backing and wire up my own lighting than removing all of that sht

I tried to do the same test as you where you add power to the led but one led strip right in the middle would light up no matter which led strip i was on, so i disconnected all the little cables and tested each led strip and all of them worked, what could cause the issue of no light on tv would jt be the motherboard or tcon or idk

@SOSfix Electronics job well done by replacing the entire strips i did repair a tv and just replacing the faulty strips the tv got the same problem the fuse and diod was ok then replacing the whole strips the tv was ok.One question,can tv screen be swap from one tv to another tv and what if the flex cable to the T-CON board are different which adaptor to buy to fix that since the tvs pins are not the same at each connector.

I got to the end where there is the pointy clear things, the screws on half of them are ridiculously tight and have been stripped. I can't get them off

Excellent video. Where did you purchase the LED strips from? Same thing just happened to mine. It would randomly go black and I would hit the home button and be fine again. Now it just flashes and the tv itself works fine just no backlight.

Aren't all of the backlight strips for this model TV the same product? Whether I am replacing some or all of the strips, they should all be the same product, right?

I just found a 50" Insignia TV in the trash. When I turn it on, the screen works, but is so dark I can barely tell there's a picture there. It also "blinks" every few seconds. The picture goes off for a split second. Nothing I've tried, including the instructions in this video, have made any difference. Previously I had a Samsung 50" TV from the trash. That one wouldn't turn on at all.

Same tv but half the screen is black. I replaced the tcon board but the same issue. I think it the lcd stip. do you have any videos on lcd strips?

i had a similar problem however... i found that by unplugging the main board the tv worked for a few days and then quit again.. repeated the action of unplugging the main board and it worked again for a week. I would like to replace ther main board but have no idea where to get one

I don't understand - wny does the screen flash if the LEDs are bad? I would expect that if the LEDs were bad the screen wouldn't flash at all. Could this be something else causing my TV to not work?

Word to the wise, there is adhesive strips on the left and right side of the panels. You will need to use a hair dryer to heat up the adhesive to free the screen from the frame. If you do not do this you will BREAK the screen when you try and lift with the suction cups. Ask me how i know, i just cracked my F#£$ing screen. Video doesn't show this challenge but its very likely with many modern TVs. You been warned
