I decided to do a Stage 1 upgrade and install a 30 series torque converter, but with an added trick to reduce vibrations on the mini bike.

For most of this video I was expecting 2 words I did NOT hear: Governor delete!!! Best cheapest mod for these bikes ever!!! Yes, to do it right you have to take the side cover off. Yes, that is a pain in the backside! However the difference in speed is just amazing! That and cutting the spot weld on the throttle opening restrictor screw and allowing the carnb to open all the way really helps. Best of luck and good riding on this bike!!!

I have a bt200x also I sadly used little stacks of washers to raise the motor and it didn't vibrate to bad at first but kept getting worse cracked my motor plate in a couple spots gunna try some wood 2×4 next. Great video wish I would have did it right like that from the start lol

I would think that since it came with both pulleys and its own back plate that it's aligned without washers. But I saw that you used 3 washers. Was it off by that much?

Slap a nice slide carburetor like a mikuni or a nibbi on and really wake up that engine

No. So far I just changed the throttle linkage. I will probably bypass the governor one of these days.

Bypassing or removing the governor will not improve top speed with the torque converter installed.

@@davidjessee7701 With the stock engine and gearing it's not going to get anywhere near ungoverned RPM. Once the belt shifts he'll be lucky to get higher than stock governed RPM once it tops out.
