This is a step up from my old set which was made of poor quality plastic and it kinda needs replacing. This kit is more stable and has loads of attachments. I find the power bank holder very useful especially during those extended recording sessions.

Your videos are absolutely amazing! Thank you so much… I want to install a front facing camera on my Mercedes C230 Kompressor. I would like to place it in the grill of the car to make use for parking assist. Do you have any suggestions on how I can go about this?

Hi Sam, you’re welcome and also thank you for watching the video 😊 I haven’t thought of adding a front camera but when I had a quick look ad available products, it seems there are more options if your car has the sports grille (i.e. the one with the mercedes logo on the grille itself). Wiring is probably the most difficult part of the installation since you need to find a way to route the wire from the engine bay to the cabin without compromising any of the insulation. Maybe something for you to consider if you decide to go ahead with this interesting project.

@@AutosNGizmos Thank you for this information! I ordered the same head unit from your previous videos last year and I absolutely love it! Thanks for making a video on that. Do you know if you can remap the buttons on the actual headunit? For example, if I instal this front camera, I would hope to remap the “mode” button on the head unit to appear with the front camera… do you know if this is a possibility with that software? Thank you for your time!

This is such a good vid. Will install android stereo just like you did and also dash+rear cams. I left a comment for your earlier vid, check it out. May help you to further modify and make these cars nicer to use in 2020s. Cheers. Edit: saw the end and realized you are gonna sell this car haha. oh well

Thank you F.Hamer. I’m glad you liked the video. I really love this car and this third upgrade made it at par with most modern cars out there. But I think I’ll hold on to it for a bit longer though. Been planning/researching how to put a blind spot monitor on this thing 😆

Hi Which camera did u buy with rain sensor or non plug and play ACC cable

Hi Prasanna, I bought the option with the rain sensor wiring harness but there are two issues: (1) the connector does not match the OEM connectors in the rain sensor. I knew this was the case and I was prepared to re-wire this however this leads me to the second issue. (2) Connecting the dashcam with the rain sensor trigger a Canbus alarm. So in the end, I just wired it directly into the headunit.

Hi Mate I have finished my project except dash cam . Where did u attach video cable in dash cam? I the camera does not have output for dash cam

Hi Prasanna, firstly, connecting the Video cable from the dashcam into the headunit is not required. But doing this will allow you to see a “live” feed of the dashcam video output. Going back to your question, if you refer to timecode 24:18, you will notice I used the AUX CVBS IN connector of the headunit to connect the video output from the dashcam. To view the video on the headunit, I simply select the AUX IN source and viola, I get the live video feed 😊
