Great video! Super helpful. A few notes. On my kit: (1) the hex head bolt screws had washers (L). (2) I used 4" about the mantel as my starting point, but I hit the crown moulding by 1/2" with the top of the front panel arm, so measure that. (3) I don't know why they used slidey-holes for the front panel threaded rods; they throw everything off-level. (4) Related: I needed my wife to hold it down so I could loosen and re-level the front panel. Adjusting the pressure should be an early step; I'm 6', 200lbs+ and struggled. (5) I backed out the pressure all the way. (6) THIS VERSION HAS A FACEPLATE THAT IS TOO WIDE FOR SAMSUNG'S; the Samsung standard seems to be 200mm (8"), and you need about 10.5". The newer version of this product can fit as narrow a VESA pattern as 100mm.

I have to say, I haven't been able to level my TV totally. To the naked eye it is "level" but I can see it off just a bit. Haven't figured out a solution. We are happy with ours, i was surprised that they don't make a "release" for arm just to test it out without extra set of hands and a lot of force.
@drdilettante

@@how2q "Haven't figured out a solution." I think the only solution is to loosen those 4 nuts and slide it into level, but that would require a 3rd person to hold the level, lol. And I'm hoping the newer model has a release or locking pins. I'll find out in about a week!

You need to attach to AT LEAST one stud - don't immediately jump to use toggle bolts all around, and you can use more than 2 if you need to. If you have friend who did a wall mount they may have leftover plastic spacers that you can use. Sometimes the curved tvs come with them. All screws on tvs are metric - 8mm are 1.25 thread or coarse, 6mm are fine or 1.00 thread.

2:00 a little late to the show, but came here looking for a solution. TV is mounted but not directly centered with the fireplace bc of location of the studs (avoided using additional drywall screws in this case.) Tv is hanging on the rails and because the rails are short, I can no longer adjust the tv to the right. Could you remember if the square front plate holding the horizontal rails can be adjusted for better centering?? I know this mount is probably outdated now!
@how2q
@how2q Жыл бұрын
I know it would be a pain to pull down and readjust. One option might be grab an MDF panel, paint color of wall and attach to studs to allow you to possibly center your mount. I changed this out 18 months ago for an electric option, and do not recall if there is the ability to move the plate.

Thanks for the great tips on how to install this mount. I have a TCL 75” 4K tv and needed a mount that I could adjust up and down for my living room. The tcl doesn’t have a flat back as well so your idea of wood spacers is good. I will also be using washers on wall mount and more washers on side screws to bracket. How far out from the wall will the tv come out from the wall?
@how2q
@how2q 3 жыл бұрын
Rest of the story on the "shims" I used...I actually lost the plastic spacers that come with the mount hence my "hack" for using wood spacers. When you order product they will come with the spacers needed. That being said, when I review the video (i no longer have this mount), the chart for how high you mount above mantel only accounts for a max mantel of 16". I would call monoprice and inquire if if would come out enough for your large mantel. Good luck

Hey Stella...apologies for late response...just catching up. I did make a video that I will link at the end of this description that might address your questions. One thing I mention in this video is that this TV does go "out" about 30". You said you needed about a 27" inch clearance so I think this might work. What bothered me about the monoprice product is that, without mounting it, it was tough to extend it out to test it in a situation like yours (the air pistons are super strong...nearly impossible to extend without mounting it to SOMETHING). This issue was the main reason why I made the video. Here is the link to my quicker video that may address your situation: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nNSWp9WjvZjOp6M.html
