Installing A Custom Intake On My Jaguar Xf!

this intake is made by spectre which is a cheap but a good quality brand. as you all can see on the video everything was nice and well packaged. and in my opinion i think the quality of this items are the same as some high end brands. for all this intake setup i paid a total of $131and i think is well worth it. hope you guys like the video if you have any questions about this install let me know.

Mexican Jayson Tatum ! Sup bro, good job w/ this. I got a 4.2 XF V8 and it was my dad's old car. Tempted to do stuff to it, not sure if I should or not.

So I have an '09 XF and am looking to use a cold air intake mostly because it's a rather worn car (160K miles) and is choked heavily by the stock intake and air filter box and the car at best gets 18 MPG. I'd assume from what I've read up on cold air intakes doing this modification would at least somewhat improve the car's tendency to heat up very quickly and improve gas mileage? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Ricky. I bought the intake tube. I was made to understand that it does not include the any performance air filters like yours for me to hear the whiny sound of the supercharger. Can you recommend any filters something similar ? I know it is from Spectra. But what would be the dimension like? Thanks Again man !

Im going to be getting an ice box so i want to fit it on the other side thats why i went with a single filter the blower screams really loud even at low rpms so thats a big plus

Cold air is denser. Which means more power. This is not a cold air intake as it is in the engine bay. You are now sucking hot air into the intake. Which is less dense, therefore less power. Read up on these and you will find this is a waste of mney.

Yeah I did that and my car sounded like it wanted to cut off now the check engine light is on even when I put back the factory

Did u install the maf sensors correctly they have an. Arrow pointing the direction the air needs to go through

Ricky 5.0s/c nah bro that’s probably what it was lol. Ima check it out. I know you mention that you get like 21 miles to the gallon with the intake but mine was saying 7- 10 miles after I installed it

Do you still have the single filter? Or is it better to get the intake from Mina gallery. I just ordered it that’s why I ask and just replace the boxes with the round filters.

What size is the coupler? is it 4" to 3"? It looks like in the video the throttle body side is a little bit smaller that 4"?

do you feel the MAF sampling is accurate with both sampling from the same airstream like that vs. the stock setup with double the filters and 2 smaller intake tubes? does it run same as stock or richer or leaner?

It feels the same it does not iddle bad or make noises. I did get a better throtle respoce and better mpg before was always around 11-12 mpg now i get 19-21😂

@@champion1389 the tube i used was a 4inch wide the filter was 10x6. I dont know if urs will go up is your car stock?

Where do the hoses that connected to the old intake go now that you put this intake on and doesn’t have anything to connect

I left both of my hose just hanging. Just dont block them becase one is for the boost bypass actuator and the otherone vents gases from the valve cover

How big of hole did you drill for the sensors and how far from the end of the pipe for the hike go so the cord can reach?

Im not sure how big the holes were but but is really easy to tell to drill into the aluminum

i wont be able to pass smog but its really easy to change the stock intake it takes around 15min

I only kept the the old intake for about 3 weeks then i went back to stock i was i felt like i was losing power. I really though i was going to make the blower louder but i was wrong. Now with this new intake the blower screams louder really loud😁 ill be making a video on it
