Got to love the sound of a ol 7.3. I’m kind of in the same boat but different brand. I have a 21 L5P duramax and a 2004 LB7 duramax. It’s a blast hopping in that LB7 and listening to it sing.

Curious on how you got it to read ur trans temp ? Did u install a temp probe in the trans ?

Did you figure out a solution to it not shutting off? Mine does the same on my 01 excursion. Then when I unplug it, it wants me to enter the Vin to access all functions after I plug it back in.

Man that thing sounds nasty with those sidepipes! My Edge on my 7.3 will do that same thing but only periodically..and its resets once the unit is unplugged from the OBD port.. with that said, my edge monitor failed after 3 years or so.. need to replace it, as I miss all the diagnostic info. Mine is also a monitor only, I didnt get the tuner. Of note as well, is that aux plug on the wiring harness can also run a backup camera, but your tuner may plug in the same place.. not sure.
