A true definition of doing things once and do doing it properly. I'm a bit OCD too. My mate and I tried to do ours but no where close to doing it proper like this! Will definitely be following this path and pull out everything and rewiring everything and soundproofing. Thanks for the info!

11.45 -the armrest trim that is boomerang shaped has a slot at bottom , 100 odd mm from right hand side for small flat screwdriver to pop off

Thanks mate, I never knew that. I need to find a foam piece that sits behind the door card so I’ll make sure I have a look when I take the trim off next. 👍🏼

Another great video, thanks man. I got the same speaker set up and they are awesome. I wish this video was around when I put my Speakers in, especially the door harness plug boot. I did not deaden the doors but def worth doing. Can I suggest, using a speaker cup over your speakers to stop rain water dripping on them. That's the reason why rust happens around the speaker mounts. My BA had them incorporated with the door insulation, but too small for after market speakers, so I bought some on Ebay. They are enclosed but just cut open the bottom half to let the sound into door cavity for a fuller sound.

Cheers mate. I do actually have some rubber speaker cup thingy’s but I didn’t use them in this car. You’ve actually just reminded me that I have them 🤣 I used them in my last car and remember they were a pretty tight fit with using the speaker adapters as well. I may need to revisit them and install them now that you’ve reminded me. Cheers 👍🏼

BTW you don't need to remove the door handle on the inside if you tun it sideways you can slot it though the door trim

Hey mate do you recommend using the factory grey foam on the inner side of the door (like you have in this vid) or replacing it with the adhesive sound deadening that you stuck to the outer door skin? I'd also personally spray the bottom of the inside door with cavity wax/deoderised fish oil after all the sound deadening is done. Lots of useful tips as always :)
@Jeenzy79
@Jeenzy79 9 ай бұрын
Hey mate, the factory stuff does an awesome job as far as deadening but I think I mentioned in a previous video that I usually throw the factory foam straight into the bin… it works like a sponge and holds moisture and creates rust on the door frame. I’ve seen this on almost every one of these cars I’ve worked on, this car being an exception which is the only reason why I’ve kept it on.

@@Jeenzy79 yea ive seen how bad they rust out, so would using the butyl rubber sound deadening work to replace it and provide as much dampening as the factory foam?
@Jeenzy79
@Jeenzy79 9 ай бұрын
@@jerryyan9456 The butyl definitely works, I’ve done the inner skin with it in a previous car, only reason I haven’t this time is there are quite a few larger openings in the sheet metal where the butyl would just be floating doing nothing where as the factory stuff is mounded in a couple of those spots to fill the void if that makes sense. I’d say using the butyl in the main metal areas then the factory foam over the top would get the best results. I’m going to see how this goes and go from there. Cheers for the tip too… I’ll look at getting something into the bottom of the doors for sure, don’t want any rust if I can help it.

Any chance you can do something about a 2004 ba wagon. I have one and need some help with everything on that. Ive done some work but i dont know everything like you said but it would be mad to see vids about a wagon
@Jeenzy79
@Jeenzy79 4 ай бұрын
Hey mate, I’m certainly no mechanic and I only really work on my own cars… unfortunately I don’t have a wagon to do anything to. I’d assume most things are very much the same though with some difference here and there.
