Lee, I was exactly the same with my merc, it sounded a little better but once you gut that DPF the V6 growl really comes through! It was like a whole new car!

Gut DPF 100%. I don’t that on my 535D and it made a huge difference on sound.!

DPF on these is HUGE! Can be a right pain to remove aswell but definitely worth it for the extra noise

I have an Audi A7 and want to get my exhaust done at some point, this video is definitely a good push, while obviously there was a small difference to sound I can already hear how it will sound, plus the fact you're hilarious, the environment part had me in tears 😂 subbed.

I did this on my Audi A6 3.0 V6 Avant, it sounded awesome, it was an 08 and didn’t have a DPF. I’ve deleted the EGR’s and DPF on my Jag (also a 3.0 V6), decided to leave the back boxes in place though, I’m like you, getting old now and don’t want the loud noise anymore 👍

They're super quiet unless you switch the DPF out with a downpipe (even gutting it doesn't do that much!)

Get that dpf and cat deleted aswell will sound epic thats where all the sound is being kept

I did exact same thing on my old A7 3.0tdi. It does sound a tad better and more like a petrol v6 with a standard exhaust with no back boxes. But take the dpf out and it's a whole different ball game. Sounds nothing like a diesel lol

No need to worry diesel straight pipes any loud I had one. For about a day as I was replacing the exsaust and I had to move the car so no exsaust from the turbo 😂

Defo needs a decat!!!!!!! Maybe a full 3 inch system since diesels are renouned for being dummy quiet, even straight piped

The easiest way I found to jack up Audi’s and BMW’s is jack up on the front jacking point Axle stand under rear jacking point Jack up on diff as high as you can and then re adjust axle stands to suit Hope this helps

You need a Dpf delete pipe, iv got mine gutted but that still leaves the cat in so to get the V6 sound it ideally needs to be deleted. Gary won't do a dpf delete because it's illigal and a £5k fine, darkside are a daft price but you can buy them on ebay for around £200. I know a friendly mot centre near us if you do decide to get a delete.

You've still got one more silencer in the system, the DPF, once its gone you'll get the sound you're looking for.

you will have rear bumper pait burned , cause the mufler tips are like 3 cm to under the bumper ! just a hint ! :)

if you do have dpf out don’t hollow it get pipe made, as it makes it sound rubbish when hollowed

Did a clutch on a a5 3.0tdi running 400hp trust me remove the dpf and it ends up sounding like a monster

@lee lockwood this might sound weird but i did it with the same engine.well see rather than removing your dpf just cut the pipe before the dpf and put a y pipe in then weld one side back to the dpf and the other pipe run to after the dpf with a electric exhaust valve inbetween. this means you can have your dpf for mots but just one press of a button and the dpf is bypassed! www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-25-Electric-Exhaust-Catback-Downpipe-Cutout-E-CUT-Out-Valve-Motor-Full-Kit/124083386206?hash=item1ce3f2375e:g:LZ8AAOSwMyldkFSW 58 pounds and a two minute welding job the kit comes with everything you need you can use the peice u cut before the dpf for joining the valve pipe to after the dpf

Wow I bought a motorbike from up north somewhere Blackburn or something (I'm from essex), and that had a zaust worx on it at the bloke said it's his mate that custom makes them for mainly cars🤔

I like these Audi vids. I have this model and need a few mods. first thing is eliminating wind noise. the driver's side window leaves a small gap and could do with the glass going up a bit. maybe building some resin on top in the place it needs to be higher. then there is the DAB upgrade.

I'm very surprised on how it sounds even with just the tips 🤣. I'm gonna invest in a full system for my 3.0 for sure!

to be honest I think you shouldn't bother removing the dpf as its going to sound much worse when you're daily driving

cut dpf and install big turbo:)

Lee, how was that straight pipe you had on EVO? I need new exhaust on mine, & everyone seems to recommend Russ Fellows for price & fit, but he doesn't seem to want to talk about them, saying they look weird & he would offer a small back box instead. I currently have a straight decat pipe with the HKS dragger, but was considering a silenced decat pipe then straight pipe.
