Installing Cabinet Decorative End Panel

Күн бұрынDetailed walk through on how to install a faux, fake, or dummy door detail on the side of a custom kitchen cabinet. Adding this panel gives your cabinet and kitchen a clean, finished, and professional look. It's very easy to do. I don't use any glue or construction adhesives. Simply drill 4 pilot holes from the inside of the cabinet box. Then secure the door panel to the cabinet using (4)1 1/2 screw. Follow along and you can do it yourself. All you need is a power drill, tape measure, pencil, and 4 screws.

Hey thanks brotha! I didnt even know what those end panels were called when my cabinets were delivered. I was about to glue them but i like this option much better!

Cool, some people glue I never did. 4 screws and it ain’t going anywhere

The extra 3/16ths is so you can scribe the edge to the wall. That's intentional.

I used 1.125” coarse drywall screws. I predrilled through the cabinet box but not the decorative panel.

Thanks for the video. Curious if you have a picture of the finished product with the toe kick and wall baseboard in place? Did you do any other trim on the exposed end of the cabinet below the false door? Thanks in advance.

Don’t know how to send a pic through KZfaq but yea just a toe kick on both sides color matched to the cabinet. Then I had a trim piece to cover where the two trim pieces met. Install towel locks first, then baseboard tight into the toe kick

I got them from Lowe’s at a great sale they had a few years back. They are the diamond brand.

Did you butt the front edge of the panel to the rear edge of face frame or did you match the front edge of panel to front of face frame. Looks like you did the former.

I did the second one. I also used a tape measure to verify width I wanted before I cut panel. I think I took off an hour 1/8 inch

Thanks. I just got my panels and will be installing but they didn't provide any instructions how they intended them to be installed. I was thinking to go flush with front of faceframe and add in a filler to the wall. The other way sounds better.
