In this episode of Building my Dream Shop Episode 50, I show you how to install the rake trim on our metal roof using zero fasteners. This gives us a very clean look and obviously free of any potential leak points in the future.

Hey there Kyle: As someone who grew up using a grandfather’s and great-grandfather’s tools, you’ve been so much help to me on what’s new and good in the modern era (including your recommendation on the Cyrusher Montta, resulting in me getting THE last one available in the US for my wife, while I had to get the similar XF-800) that I thought I would return the favor. I watched some of these all at once, so can’t remember which one had you messing with your broken tape measure, but I was using a Milwaukee that had been a gift until I happened to walk past a display in Lowe’s and saw a Craftsman that looked like it, but said MADE IN USA on it. I bought the 30’ version, took it home, and extended it out more than 12 feet horizontally!! (They advertise 14’ and it will probably do that.). It’s Craftsman 30’ x 1 1/4” model CMHT37570. Best one I’ve ever had, so I immediately bought another. Very comfortable to use. If you get one, I’m sure you’ll love it!

Telegraph! Same grammatical use as working with flooring. When you lay down some types of flooring you add an underlayment (solids or liquids) to prevent any defects or designs from a previous floor from telegraphing through to the new finished floor. This is a great build series guys and I know you knew that but wanted the interaction from the comments. Nice job.

i don't do this for a living nor will i probaly ever have a building this size or quality but thats not the point to me. I watch this channel to learn things, watch people be passionate about their profession, and to be brutally honest it is just very entertaining to me. First off you guys are hilarious together and secondly Kyle you are a fricken magician with the snips and metal work. I really enjoy watching you take your square put it here and make, come out an inch here, put a 45 on it, make there, snip, snip, cut out fold/bend and crimp. bingo bango you have an amazing corner detail that also sheds water. keep it up fellas

You guys are awesome , as a manufacture I often wondered on the last video why you did not put the gable cleat on before the roof panels - where all of your cleat nails would have been covered by the panels - instead of tacking them into the face of that nice fascia board. I understand that your cleat screws will never be seen . Also do you think snap Z should sell solid Z pre cut for the guys ordering 10’ length’s and cutting them on site. After watching this video I did answer my own question. You were struggling on fitment . If you nailed it on the roof under the panel it would give you more flex for the fascia trim over nailing the face and having. 0 play on adjusting to the solid placed Z bar on the roof side I also don’t ever comment so when I do I Maxwell vent a bit . I know those snips are “good enough for the girls you go with” For your precise cutting and snipping like I do WHY don’t you invest in Malco M2006,2007 snips that are precision made and throw those other reds and greens into the community donation box I did notice you were using Malco’s 6” seamer’s they only recommend for 28 gauge if you pre bent the ridge before installing you would get a perfect 90 rather then beating it after with a beautiful Stiletto From the guy that cares …

This a beautiful job ……. But I would love to know what Kyle would charge someone to do this roof to this level of detail. It seems like it has taken a lot of labor to achieve the finished product. I doubt very much there are very many contractors out there doing this level of workmanship with this product. I would love to hear anyone else thoughts on this. I love the work that Kyle and Greg do but I think I would be very frustrated if I hired anyone else to do a building like this and did not get the job these guys do. I would probably be fighting with the contractor and telling him to watch these videos. Then they would tell me they want to charge 30 to 40% more.
