Awesome video. Very detailed. I am ready now to do my oil change this Sunday if weather permits. Looks like the hardest part is finding the Jack points and getting your bike lifted to do it.

You just reminded me that I never received a manual with mine. I was planning a trip to the dealer today anyway so I will try to remember to ask for one. I only have a little over 400 miles (approx 643 Km) on it so far, so not quite ready for an oil change. Thanks for the nice tutorial. I have to say though that I was really worried about your pretty ring getting dinged and scratched!
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
I know! My ring!! Yikes. I did take it off later in the vid. I really don’t like wearing rubber gloves but maybe should have😊

From the Torque wrench store.🤣🤣🤣

that tiny funnel was designed ONLY for the gas tank. It was never meant to be used for an oil funnel. For one thing it doesn't have very big opening like an oil funnel would have, and secondly, any oil film left on it will attract dirt in it's storage compartment, and I'd never want to then use it for gasoline.
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Your right, it is a gas funnel. But I found it handy to use for filling the oil. Of course you wouldn’t want to leave it oily. It’s really not hard to clean the oil from it.
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
@Spydie Actually I’m thinking because the oil intake is so small anyways, using a larger funnel may cause a very quick over flow. I liked using this little funnel because I could see through it and pour slowly so as not to over fill or splatter back. We have lots of funnels in our shop too lol
@brianh.34682 жыл бұрын
Relax bud, a funnel is a funnel, just get one for gas
@maxmcneeley74 Жыл бұрын
Geez she's not working on a trillion Doller space shuttle.you can use the same funnel for Gas,water,coolent, ice cream ,beer,and soda. Wipe it out and relax..the world will end soon enough. Enjoy your day.

Best way to get to cooking temp is to go out for a ride, far better for the engine, then do the procedure.
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
That would definitely get her heated. But then there’s the parking, ungearing (if you wear gear), jacking the bike, preparing the tools etc. The oil temp would have cooled somewhat by then. I always bring my engine up to running temp before I ride, as recommended. I don’t think it’s an issue for the engine.
@spydie3 жыл бұрын
Doesn't just removing the sump drain also drain the block?
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
They are two separate things. This is a dry sump engine. The crank and the sump are separate components.
@schizzleful3 жыл бұрын
Very informative, but how do I reset the computer after I change the oil?
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
There is no need to do a reset. Write down your mileage in your manual and change the oil every 10,000 km as the manual suggests. I change mine every 6000 km
@schizzleful3 жыл бұрын
@@RideForAdventures True, and I do that but wanted to reset the oil change reminder also...
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
It may be because mine is a 2019, but I do not have any alerts or reminders to change the oil at specific mileage.
@saimon14092 жыл бұрын
Hello. What are the dimensions of those oil drain plugs washers? Thank you :-)
@brianh.34682 жыл бұрын
The kit comes with washers so you don’t need the dimensions
@JRod01133 жыл бұрын
When is it recommended to change the oil. I purchased mine used with 3400miles and now have 3700 miles? 2 months going on 3 months since owned.
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
It’s recommended to change the oil every 6000 miles (10,000 kms). I will change mine and do all maintenance at about every 8000 miles. This includes air filters and a thorough inspection.
@JRod01133 жыл бұрын
@@RideForAdventures thank you. Just want to make sure as I have. Transmission Maintenance Required message on my Gauge now

How are you ? Question when can I do my first oil change ?
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hello! I am great. Your first oil change should be done at 6000 miles. Then every 10,000 or once a year.
@alexanderpolo89383 жыл бұрын

Why wear rings when you are working with oil and the bike? Good idea to wear latex gloves too.
@RideForAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree. I never take my ring off but if you notice I did eventually. The oil change is not about rings, or latex gloves, which I am allergic too.

I think you removed the drain plugs in incorrect order. The larger one is supposed to be removed first as per BRP instructions. There must be a reason for the particular order.
@RideForAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm maybe it wouldn’t have erupted so fast then lol. I’ve been doing it for every oil change so it’s probably ok.👌
