Installing Ford Flex Seats in a Police Interceptor Utility Explorer (2011-2019)

4 ай бұрынHere are the results of installing Ford Flex seats in a 2015 PIU. As far as I can tell all Ford Flex seats are interchangeable so any year would work. If in doubt you can compare the mounting points to your Explorer and see if they are the same.

Oh Heck yea! im so ready to install my black 16 steering wheel into my 15 piu!! i was lucky enough to find one that has the exact button layout as my old steering wheel! going to install today now i saw youve done it! Thanks for the vids man really helping us out!!!

Good to know. I swapped over Lincoln MKS seats over by mixing the PIU's rails. It took a bit of time, but if you have Sync, you can upgrade to Sync 2 or Sync 3 and wire up the climate control (including splicing into the canbus). Nice climate controlled leather.

Thank you so much for doing this channel. I just purchased a 2016 PIU. I am in the process of installing a third row flex seat due to their availability at local junkyards. I had a quick question. Will the flex seat belts mount inside the PIU? or would I need to purchase the explorer third row seat belts.

Did the right bank on the steering wheel controls end up working after you did some FORScan stuff? Likely because it had aux buttons and that side didn't work?

Is there any way you could go over briefly on how to do a carpet swap into a Ford Explorer 2011-2019?

It really is pretty easy, if you find a donor vehicle at a salvage yard and remove the carpet then you will learn all you need to. The hard part is removing all the seats to get access to all of them. Bring a 15mm, a 13mm, 10mm, 8mm, and a drill battery or similar to jump the seats so you can move them.

Doubt it. I’m sure it can be made to fit. But drop in no. Also. The ecoboost is more powerful. But yeah. Nothing like a v8.

Would the carpet and seats from a ford flex or 2011 mkx fit a 17 explorer piu? its all i can find local at the wreckers

The flex seats will fit, the carpets are close but not exact. I do not think MKX would fit but I have not looked into it.

On my second row flex seats the headrests are notched in a way that they move down and barely extend above the seat in a fully loaded position. Mine are from a 2011 Flex though. So you might be able to just grab the older style headrests to clear the seats
