We've worked directly with Koolance to produce custom no-leak connectors for our spindle motors so installation is a breeze.
Our custom Kool Connectors can be found here: pwncnc.com/products/kool-conn...
We'll preinstall these if purchased with a spindle kit: pwncnc.com/products/spindle
We'll also preinstall Kool Connectors onto our CW-3000 chillers found here: pwncnc.com/products/cw-3000
If you have any questions and would like to reach out, we're happy to help... email us... support@pwncnc.com

I thought that the ones you mounted were the default connectors. Because when ordering my spindle kit I chose to upgrade to the Kool connectors, and the spindle came with these already mounted, but in the kit I also received 2 individually packed Kool connectors (says QD2-FS06X 10 on them). So, naturally I thought those are the upgraded no-leak Kool connectors I need to mount to the spindle instead of the ones that are already on. However, I do not see any way to mount them, can’t figure out how to fit them to the spindle, hence searching youtube now to find a video on that. Also, regarding the connectors you’ve just mounted in this video, if I choose to keep those and not use the QD2 ones I received, I don’t see any way to connect the tubes to them… probably I could force the tube on them (although if I’d say “a bit of a stretch” that would be an understatement), but even then I don’t see any way to secure the tube, no collar or nut to put over the tube… I’m so confused. EDIT: Noooo way, just found a video on water cooling, searching for qd2. I can’t believe how they actually connect together. I wouldn’t have figured that out in a million years. Alright, now I am up&running 🥳

Glad you found what you needed. In the video i'm removing the stock connectors and installing our custom-designed "motor-side" kool connectors. We pre-install these if someone orders the kool connectors with their spindle kit as a convenance. The two connectors still sealed in baggies are the tube-side connectors which you'll press onto the tubes that came with your system. We're always improving our documentation... and will be sure to make note of all this so it's clearer in the future. Remember... reach out to support@pwncnc.com if you have any questions and we're happy to help.

Thank you Daniel! Now that I saw the way they connect, I realize they are indeed very “kool”. I would have definitely reached out to support, had I not figured it out tonight. Only thing left is to fill the chiller tomorrow and start my first project. I know you said it’s overkill, but I ended up getting the cw 5200. I think if I set it to 18 degrees Celsius (64-65 F) should be fine for the spindle, not too low, not too high… Just need to buy some coolant liquid, I guess I will go with antifreeze + distilled water, not sure what ratio though, will see… Have a great weekend! And happy holidays!

Happy to help ;-) Be sure before you turn on your chiller... to allow the motor to warm up a little bit. Usually takes

My “kool” connectors look nothing like these. Have they changed? I can’t figure out how to install them at all. You need an updated video maybe.

Hello @terrapinCreations666 our custom designed motor-side connectors haven't changed since they were originally designed a few years ago. We sell them in pairs (pwncnc.com/products/kool-connectors)... two motor side which is what i'm demoing installation in this video. and two tube side connectors which I don't talk about here. I approached Koolance to design the motor-side connectors which are exclusively sold by PwnCNC. If you're having trouble, please reach out. to support@pwncnc.com for assistance.

Hi Daniel, thanks for the great video! I couldn't quite figure out the way you secured the spindle for removal of the connectors. Can you please recommend a way to hold the spindle? I'm concerned about applying to much pressure on the spindle body.

I’d recommend mounting the spindle on your machine and installing them in that vertical position. The rubber mallet is just in case you have trouble “starting” the stock connectors turning. They use a liquid seal of some sort on the threads that can dry very securely making them hard to start turning, but once they start they are easy to remove.

What is the difference between the stock connectors and these Kool connectors?
@PwnCNC
@PwnCNC 8 ай бұрын
@@TerrapinCreations666 We contracted with Koolance to have special motor-mountable connectors designed and manufactured. The Tube-side connectors are off-the-shelf, but the Motor-side connectors are custom designed/made for PwnCNC spindle motors. We're the only place you can purchase these specific connectors.

will these work on other chinese 2.2kw spindles?
@PwnCNC
@PwnCNC 3 ай бұрын
great question, maybe. Our G-Penny spindles come with M8x1.0mm threading on the water-lines. If yours are similar, then it'll work. I do have a few sets of M8x1.25mm cool connectors from a very early order if your motor happens to be this threading.

G-Penny is awesome to deal with IMO. They're very responsive to me... sure due to the purchase volume, but seeing as we have our customers best interests in mind it allows us to push for features and ensure high quality for the products we sell. A while back i wrote up an article which gives great detail into our goals and vendors: support.pwncnc.com/kb/article/182-why-should-i-buy-a-spindle-system-from-pwncnc/
