Any ideas how a dust boot would work with narrow but deep cuts from 5" to 6" deep?
@PwnCNC2 күн бұрын
The deepness of the cut is definitely the difficulty for any of these style boots which are abundant on the market. The boot's body will hit narrow/deep walls making it almost impossible to utilize this type of boot. Narrow but very deep (5-6in) presents a whole lot of design challenges and will be very difficult to setup anything existing boot design. If it were me, I'd setup air spraying at the bit and helping keep the chips away from the cutter, as well as an enclosure or some other machine-size containment for the dust and clean-up afterwards.

You mentioned the Shapeoko doesn't support ATC. What is your recommendation for buying a CNC (for woodworking) that would support full ATC?
@PwnCNC12 күн бұрын
For the Masso controller, the one we've researched the most and for sure certain it'll work with the ATC very easily, only the Onefinity Elite and Mill Right's Mega-V2 have the Masso Touch controller. The cnc4newbie machines are also tested to work with the ATC, however the documentation for their controllers is still being worked on. We are working on a Masso Touch conversion kit that can be installed onto any CNC machine, but that is not yet ready for purchase.

Nice Video! At the end of the video, are you using the scrap block to hold it up so when you turn it off, it doesn't drop? I saw a video that showed set screws that can be tightened to stop the drop. But my question is, is there a way to tell the masso, that cutting where your tooler is located is out of bounds and not cut over there or do you just always zero when homing to tell it not to go past zero?

what do you recommend for tube management?
@PwnCNC21 күн бұрын
We're working on a few options but nothing has solidified just yet. Currently our recommendation is to look into RowdyRoman's tube-clips. They're decent. Another option we've found is UglyDog has a "larger cable chains" upgrade available which might work well, although i have no experience with either solution.

Yes exactly. Great news though… I’ve determined how to trigger the “forward” function when the rpm command from the controller goes above a minimum value. This eliminates a step currently required by the controller because of the lack of a forward trigger relay. We’re documenting this new setting and excited to get a video to show the full feature.

Noticed that you didn't have any type of air dryer system in the installation. Everything I've read seems to indicate that is needed. Do you really need one or is it just overkill?
@PwnCNCАй бұрын
It really depends on your conditions. With air compressors… pulling conditioned air causes less condensation inside the tank. In my conditioned garage, I have a dehumidifier running constantly. Under these conditions I’m producing pretty dry air coming from my compressor. An air dryer is still recommended even the smaller kind. Something is better than nothing… my something is the dehumidifier.

changing tools in the MDI screen is as easy as using the g-code commands. Tx is the tool command. so to change from whatever tool is in the system now to tool 2... enter T2. But the controller won't actually execute that command until you also give it the M6 command. So all-in-one... use T2M6 to go from say tool 1 to tool 2. to move from tool 2 back to tool 1, use T1M6 To understand more about how the Masso controller does tool changes... checkout their video here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rsV0gcumlZzDnZs.htmlsi=DELM_4ne6D6wD1zw

What was the 4 pin connector on the back of masso that you installed but didnt show? Is it required for atc system?
@PwnCNC2 ай бұрын
Hello Johnd5542... that 4-pin is for the tool-setter. It's available on our site as part of purchasing that product. The ATC comes with the required 5-pin connector... so no worries there. The ATC uses the already installed 6-pin connector we asked Onefinity to add to their machines... and the 5-pin we include with full instructions and assist with installing if you need it.
@johnd55422 ай бұрын
@PwnCNC Thanks for the fast reply. Thats what I thought. So the ATC system comes with the tool setter, or just the connector? Im in the process of building my atc and I dont have a pwn tool setter. However, I did buy the Ez from 1F. Will that still work with Atc? My guess is no, or else you would have just used the 1f 2pin connector. Im new to cnc and theres not much info on the atc. Everything kind of assumes you are converting to atc, with prior knowledge. Im a complete noob. There was a lot to learn just to get setup, and a ton still left to learn, lol.
@PwnCNC2 ай бұрын
@@johnd5542 The tool setter is actually a separate accessory that isn't really required. You can certainly use their tool setter vs ours. We design accessories for a variety of CNC machine brands and made that one available for those folks with Masso controllers "not" on a Onefinity branded machine... however it can certainly be used on the Onefinity if you wish. Yeah... not much info because I think we're amoung the first to come out with a viable low-cost (compared to other way more expensive options) ATC for any brand cnc machine. Our goal is to share our knowledge and bring some pretty cool features to folks no matter the machine they own. There is most certainly a ton to learn... stick with it though. Hello @ddsGarmin, we've published the inventory here in our kb: support.pwncnc.com/kb/article/406-air-compressor/ The compressor needs to supply 95psi regularly. You'll likely need to run it through a dryer because you don't want wet air going into the motor.
