Cleaning and clocking the brake to facilitate using the Hybrid 46M.
So, after a few comments and questions, I definitely would have liked more tension against the spacing washers with this brake but there was no combination of the provided spacing washers that wouldn't have left it underclocked or overclocked.
With the 3 tine open and closed and some of the other muzzle devices this wouldn't have been as issue as "clocking" isn't important, but with the "brake" function of this device when not using the can getting it clocked outweighed my concern about it possibly coming loose later. So far, after several range trips, the can has performed fine and I've had no issues.
If at some point the break does come loose I'll explore different options for the spacers to get it clocked correctly with more ft/lbs of tightening. Although Silencerco does not recommend using crush washers with their ASR devices that with the rocktight may be my next avenue if this one comes loose.

I heard that Rockset isn't easy to remove but no first hand experience. I plan to use blue Loctite on mine... I'd rather use blue and more washers / torque. I just had my SiCo approved and I have two of these to install before I can use it.

I have the same flash hider and brakes for my Hybrid 46 but i didnt install them originally. I am getting ready to add another brake myself this time but I am confused by how little torque you put on that. I think 30 is the torque they recommend so I bought a torque wrench. Is the torque even needed, have you had any problems with yours since you used loctite? I am adding one onto my RPR 308 and also 8" 300 blackout. Thanks for video!

I would have preferred more torque too but there was no combination of the shim washers that would have clocked it correctly. I wish I had bought the closed tone flash hider instead of the brake. Clocking wouldn’t have mattered much then. So far it’s been good but I’ve not had the can cranked on super tight since then. I’d definitely try for more torque if you can get it clocked right.

I think they say to crank it down to 20/30 lbs, are you worried it will come off?

I wish I could’ve put 20-30lbs on it, I definitely would have felt better lol but it wasn’t going to clock correctly with more force with any washer combination. So far no issues but only time will tell. I much prefer the new timing nut system but not sure how that would work with the rock-tight.

I personally won’t use rockset on the barrel end because i find i remove them too often. Owning several rifles its just too much on an off. I have never had a properly torqued down ASR mount come off though. I just check visually and after 100s rounds may check torque again for piece of mind. Main thing is to use proper sized shims; no crush washers for ASR mount. I use ASR flash hider so i don’t have to time the mount. When not using silencer I sometimes put ASR compatible KAW Valley compensator on to through the noise down range.

I’m in no way happy this one didn’t clock out with more torque and finish in the correct orientation, so it is mostly dependent on the rockset to hold it at this point. Having said that, I’ve had no issues to date with it loosening up. This install has made me reconsider using brakes with the ASR mounts though. I’ll probably just use flash hiders in the future that don’t need timed so I won’t have to worry about it.

Literally only person I’ve ever heard say clock it instead of time it
