Installing Well Water House, Pressure Tank, Wiring, and Piping!
In this video i will be installing a temporary well house in order to get the well operational. This is to support building my mother in-laws house. The builder requires that water be on site before they start building. I will be installing the well house, and getting all of the plumbing installed from the well head over to the well house. Then I will be moving on to installing the electrical controllers and pressure switch that is required to make the well pump work.

So envious, you make it seem effortless. I am just now in the same process here in New Hampshire. Im off grid and everything is a struggle. Hopefully watching your videos and similar ones will help. Just trying not to blow anything up!

Another great job, as usual. Just a side note, you only need one and a half turns around the threads with the teflon tape, anything more than that will just squeeze out and be wasted. I learned that from a plumber.

Good job that looks professional to me my house they got a regular 120 outlet running 220 in it I don't think that's right if someone would plug a toaster in there it would blow up

Great explanations, and fast forwarding through the repetitive tasks! Why do you need a controller in series with your pressure switch? As I understand it, the pressure switch turns on the pump when the pressure drops below the min setting and turns off the pump when pressure hits the max setting (40/60 or 30/50psi usually). If you used an M4 pressure switch it would also turn off the pump if the well goes dry, so what function would a controller provide in this case? Thanks for the info!

In the application that I have showing in this video the controller take the 10/3 wirer from the well and allow for a 10/2 wirer to be used to the pressure switch and then back to the panel; Also and more importantly the controller has a start capacitor in it. That is what allow a 220V well pump to start.

Did you guys camp on the land to use the water before you built the house ? 260 ft down wow that’s a deep well ! Great set up for camping until your house was eventually built.

It was 4’ x4’ x4’ because that is what a sheet of ply wood cut in half is. So that way I did not waste material and money

How to you keep water line from ground to pump house from freezing? Can you bleed it out in winter months I'm making a setup like this but will not use in the winter months.

Nice work! My well only has the pressure switch connected directly to power. What is the controller for? Have you considered dropping a second backup, soft start pump that you could run off solar power? Have you considered dropping in a backup simple pump (hand pump)? Thanks for the video.
@DanielWoodell
@DanielWoodell 5 жыл бұрын
The control is for a 220V pump it has a start and a run capacitor in it with over load pump protection. I suspect that your pump may be 110V. There will eventual be solar panels on this house but the system will be designed to support the type of pump that is installed. The well is over 220 feet deep, I’m not that familiar with hand pumps but I would think they are more for well that are much shallower.

@@NotSureJoeBauers That sounds right. It is a 1hp, 220V pump and 90 feet down. It does have a large startup current and would probably be better with a capacitor on startup. I plan to change it out with two soft start pumps and a simple pump in the near future. Thanks!
@HomesteadEngineering
@HomesteadEngineering 5 жыл бұрын
@@NotSureJoeBauers Yes, that's exactly where I got the idea from. I'm actually going to try to put in a whole new well and keep my current well as a backup. Seams excessive but water is pretty important. Yes, grid tied is better if your goal is saving money. If your looking to be self sufficient then battery backed is the way to go. We get a lot of hurricanes here in Florida and I want power when the utility goes down.

No because the wire is temporary, as soon as the house is framed up i will be moving the wire, to the other side of the house. All that will be left in the ground is conduit.

Jesus this comment section makes me want to kick a puppy! A bunch of narcs. Lol Unreal after you put in all the work and extra touches, the keyboard know-it-alls come out. Anyway, day 5 of no water. Bf installed a whole new system at the cabin/house we are staying at while building mini houses. It won't prime and I'm ready to pull my greasy hair out. 😞

No way just noticed you are in port orchard. We just moved back from a 6 month stay in port townsend building 5 mini houses for a hippie cali lady. Lol Loved it there except for the god awful pulp mill smell, oh and the composting toilet trend. 😫 Anyway your videos were the only ones i could get my bf to watch. We are now staying out of granite falls in Verlot. No cell service, wifi, etc. No running to home depot or Safeway 'real quick'. Ha ha 😒🔫
