👌👏Adam, I am the author of the book, "Blood Under False Pressure, the Truth About High Blood Pressure" and you are one of the few who have given a common sense approach to the Blood Pressure misconception. Blood Pressure itself is not the problem But a symptomatic issue, The real problem is america's health issues in our body is causing a Blood Pressure rereaction. Change our diet and change your life. Fix our diet, stress n anxiety, health problems, hydration, infections, inflammation, and vitamins Deficiency than your blood pressure will fix itself. Thank you

That's not a practical answer to our hypertension epidemic. Millions of retired people with no job stress have alarmingly high blood pressure. I know many of them myself. The answer is a better diet and vigorous exercise. We've known this for decades.

Whenever my blood pressure is going to be measured I do deep breathing up to 15 minutes before: breath in slowly, hold for 10 to 30 seconds, exhale slowly through the nose, repeat two to four times. Done! Result will be that the person taking the pressure will praise you for your perfect blood pressure - every time.

My blood pressure is normally 120/80 or there about. However when I have it taken by medic's it goes sky high. I don't feel anxious, so why does this happen ?
@officerdaughtry
@officerdaughtry 21 күн бұрын
Doctors say I have the highest sustained blood pressure ever recorded. My normal blood pressure has been around 260/140 for 16 years and once the emergency room couldn't even measure it, they just charted it at 320+/240 and my nose and ears were bleeding. Last year I was taking as many as 16 medications per day but had no change in my blood pressure so I stopped all the meds after 6 months with no change in my B/P. I've tried every type of medication known with no change. My renal arteries have been checked 6 times and are perfect, also my kidney function is perfect. A few years ago I had surgery and was given dilaudid for four day and this is the only time in 16 years that my blood pressure has been normal (120/80). I went to the doctor this week for a checkup and my B/P was so high that they made me sign a release to even leave. I'm 62 years old and I've lost over 50lbs going from 240lbs down to 188lbs this year but it didn't help at all. I also walk 2 miles per day and eat a very healthy low carb diet. My blood pressure was 120/80 my entire life then just went off the chart in less than one week in my 40s. If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

I am 78, have a very healthy diet and exercise and I am thin!.At first I had to think about the breathing exercise before doing it or remind myself to do it. now, about 8 months later, I do it without thinking about it throughout the day wherever I am,in the car or whenever I am alone. It is just natural now rather then an 'exercise'.Not only does it help BP but it is also very relaxing. Thank you so much.

Cored massage turns out to be very effective for me. In just a minute it can drop BP from 135 systolic to 115. Much faster than just sitting down and relaxing (which often only drops the already quite low pulse). Box breathing usually calms the pulse down for me and serves as a mental focus aid. But that massage is top notch!

Adam- Thank you! One comment you made but didn't elaborate on may just change my life. You said "breath in through the nose, it stimulates nitric oxide production which helps dilate the blood vessels which thus lowers blood pressure". I've got BP issues I can't figure out. After using ChatGPT to ask if stimulating nitric oxide production is different for mouth breathers, I realize I've got to retrain my breathing habits right away. I've been a mouth breather for decades. Might be a good video for you to do, if you haven't already.

Your blood pressure is exactly where it needs to be whether it is high or low. Your body is attempting to perfuse all areas of the body and sometimes increasing the pressure is necessary to make that happen. As long as you are stuck on artificially defined number ranges to indicate “health”, you are not a true healer, and don’t have an understanding of how the body works or what it is doing.

I am surprised to say that this worked. My whole family has BP issues and it is believed fhat it may be a false signal of low BP and our bodies are compensating by jacking it up. Im under a med review right now and even though medicated my BP was 170/100 this morning. One cycle of neck massage and box breathing brought it down to 154/100 and a second cycle… 134/100. Is it possible that the false signal is somehow related to the carotid nerve?

I had to draw a little ski slope with the 4 on the way up and the 6 on the way down…bc it wasn’t my normal staccato crazy half held breaths….bp came down from 140/ 80 to 115/ 70….i can now tell when I need to do a few reps …its great up the slope…

I lowered my blood pressure from an average of 148/88 to 122/78 all by switching to an all meat diet. And, contrary to what my doctor assumed would happen, my total cholesterol went down. My LDL went from 239 to 200, my triglycerides went from 98 to 81 and my HDL went from 40 to 47. Also, my GERD disappeared, my acid reflux was gone, my blood sugars are now between 70 and 100 instead of 155 to 200 which is what they were before and I lost 47lbs... so far. All meat, no plants, no grains, no sugars... just meat, eggs, heavy cream and fat heavy cheeses.

I’ve done everything suggested to lower BP. Reduced sugar, salt, carbs, taking flaxseed, beetroot, magnesium, D3 with K2, eat lots of green, leafy vegetables, practice breathing as instructed, exercise two hours per day (which includes walking at least 3 miles), and more! My BP stays @ an average 135/80. My BMI is 19 and I have no day-to-day health issues other than tinnitus, which affects my sleep. I do not want to take any meds. What else can I do?

@@AdamJStoryDC I just finished finished watching your video and have incorporated nearly every item into my life for the last year. Personally, I love beets, spinach (cooked & raw), garlic, green tea, but don’t know much about ginger and have not tried fish oil supplements yet. The only other item I can address is stress, but I’m retired and most of the stress I used to have has been eliminated. I’m fully aware of white coat syndrome. I take my blood pressure twice a day at home. However, just thinking about strapping on that cuff gives me stress, so I guess I’m SOL. I’ve tried every relaxation method out there, but my BP stays around the stage one hypertension level. Every now and then I’ll get a normal or just elevated reading and I’m thrilled. But that’s not often enough….

@@CindiP-nm6mb Have you considered that it's just genetic or age? Some people just run a little higher. Why worry about 135/80?
@CindiP-nm6mb
@CindiP-nm6mb 7 ай бұрын
@@AdamJStoryDC Because my doctors consider it to be high. And my Omron BP monitor screams in that red font - Stage 1 Hypertension twice a day. I’m 67 and have seen some other videos by doctors saying that really isn’t that high at my age, so maybe I should ignore the indications that it’s too high? In addition there are times when I can go for two weeks with readings around 110/76…

I may be the only person who became confused when you referred to "the" carotid artery, singular, then demonstrated the massage in black and white on the left side, opposite to the right side you began with. The diagram didn't make it clear (to me) either, that we have carotid arteries on both sides of the neck. Anyway, just a point of clarity. I'm hoping these work for me, and thank you.

So that gentle massage is stimulating the vagus nerve which is often compressed around C1 to C3, this is usually ignored in most MRI reviews in my experience, and especially important after a trauma to head/neck area, that’s an excellent point, it can restore the regulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, excellent video.

Sir, I am from India and subscribed to your channel after watching this video. I have an elevated blood pressure of 170/90 despite taking beta blockers and ACE inhibitors. The beta blocker slows my heart down to below 60 bpm most of the time. I need to lower my blood pressure naturally.

So I tried the Carotid sinus and it did lower my systolic about 10 points to 133. Ok, but not great. Next, I tried the breath-holding technique. This lowered my BP further. But the best is when I drew in deep breaths through my nose and slowly exhaled through my mouth. Dropped it to 114, which I have done in the past. However, this drop is only temporary. Why does a deep breath through the nose and slow exhale through the mouth lower my BP? Is it because I am inhaling more air that produces nitric oxide? if so, is my physiology somehow inhibiting NO when breathing normally?
