Since spending almost a year using a Nokia flip phone a while back, my perception of social media and smartphones has shifted. Picking up my device to scroll infinitely through photos, videos and information no longer seems as enticing as it once did. I no longer find myself doomscrolling into the depths of social media or the news. This video is a reflection of that realisation. I hope you are able to experience that realisation too!

I mostly use my devices for audio books and podcasts that I can listen to while I do my chores, travel and sow. I also have several dedicated USB and audio book readers so I can ignore my phone for a while. I find social media to be one of the most boring things anyone can engage in these days as people are more in the habit of talking at each other rather than to each other. The other day, I went to Scarthin book shop in Cromford, Derbyshire and spent a lovely afternoon with my partner delving through three floors of wall to wall books. Even the cafe and the doors were covered in book shelves. Then we sat in the sun with homemade soup and tea With cake. Then we went to Matlock bath for a fish and chip supper and a walk along the river. It was the nicest afternoon I'd had for a long time and social media played no part in it. ❤

Smartphone also affected my !!! God knows how many hours or years I have wasted I feel so lost.... Do u have any such experiences that you took this decision, if yes please do let us know.... Also can u please share how u do the basic stuff for which we need smartphone like online meeting or important messages

After almost a year of not using a smartphone, I dropped the habit of scrolling and instead sought out other activities to entertain myself with. I suppose this video is a somewhat limited list of those things. I also curated my social media to make it less interesting and time-wasting - I'd be happy to chat about that at some point in a video if you'd be interested!
