I mostly see videos here on KZfaq about insulin pumps mostly used by type 1 diabetics I have a question can someone with type 2 diabetes benefit from insulin pump therapy? or are insulin pumps mostly recommended for type 1 diabetics? I have type 2 diabetes my regimen is oral medications along with insulin Lantus 26 units every morning medications consist of 1000 milligrams of metformin with breakfast 1000 milligrams of metformin with evening meal and somewhere in between I also take 100 milligrams of Januvia.

bluetech7753 there are also type two diabetics with insulin pumps, I don't know that much about it, but pumps only use fast acting insulin which you would use instead of your lantus. But as you don't need bolus insulin (did I understand that correct?) I don't know if the pump would really help you. Another thing is that insurance doesn't cover pumps for everyone... In my country you need to have unstable bg's, dawn phanomen or anxitey of needles... and you can't get it good while using long and short acting insulin;)

Yes we also use them in type 2 diabetics. You have better drugs other than metformin, try them first. But if you want to use a pump, it is pretty much available. Automatic delivery pumps are advanced ones and they can make your life easier.

The pump manufacturer needs to be educated go back to the basic user friendly. Sturdy long lasting paradigm 512 -. 523. Models mine is 9 yrs old and working good just using batteries a Lil faster than when new. I recently got an upgrade Medtronic 770 g. Total joke. Cheap plastic. You have to be very careful changing battery it's so flimsey the screen. Too small the lighting sucks 99 percent of the programming is useless. Un needed alarms go off for no reason and you can't get sleep you have to be trained to use it with 3 fricking bibles to read to operate total joke. Ppl that build them must be basement dwelling 40 yr old virgins that have never studied diabetes or been out in the real world. Medtronic. Don't be a bud light company go back to reliable good products. Paradigm. 512-523 pumps
