True but there’s one thing I’ve never forgiven the late Steve Jobs for: dumping the perfectly good PowerPC chip. Apple never really explained what was wrong with it. And with the new M chip, they’re admitting they made a huge mistake. Whether they’ll be committed to their new chip for the long haul remains to be seen.

Mac pros are more than capable of running AAA games but M1chips are based on ARM and intel chips are based on x86. Code written for x86 games is not compatible with M1 chips by their nature. And no gaming company wants to rewrite their games for the few people who buy macs for gaming.

But the other thing is laptop gaming isn't really ideal. If you want to compare the Mac Pro (the desktop) to a desktop computer, you'll have a real comparison. They can do it, but Macbooks aren't supposed to be gaming-centric.

Get it. I just got an M1 Mac Mini last Saturday, the little chip is a marvel. I'm so enamored with the device, I wrote a lengthy customer review on Best Buy's website, and left a ridiculously long comment on this video delving into just how full of crap these ads are. You might be able to trade your current Air in for some credit.

I have a macbook and I'm building a PC for gaming (because it's fine to acknowledge that different devices can be good for different things) and these dumb ads have honestly made me decide to ditch the 10400 i5 I was gonna get and go for an r5 3600 instead. I don't want my money going to Intel. Plus they should be spending their money on R&D rather than these ads and try catch up because when the zen 3's come out I think Intels going to be in even more trouble.

I agree, Intel should put more into R&D. There are some instances where I can recommend intel because of their price drops, but amd is still more of what I recommend. 3600 is good cpu, hope you enjoy! :)

Well, AMD doesn't have to worry as much as Intel. Their CPUs and GPUs are used in consoles like PS5 and Xbox series X&S and in ton of PCs.

Intel on the other hand... Intel's POV: Consoles? Nope. (PS5 and Xbox - AMD & Nintendo Switch - Nvidia) PCs? Yes, but... I mean... Yes if we want to get kicked in our ass! Because apple is one of intel major client in the past? Loosing apple hurts intel a lot, amd only gain small market share in laptop space...especially gaming laptop.... Intel can still hold on even if their being trashed in deskop market....but loosing laptop (and server?) market is a devastating loss.....

yeah m1 can run two displays simultaneously, but since laptops already have an internal one, the can only have one external one... counting the internal one, it's 2 vs 4 screens. but Im'm sure, the next M-chip will solve this issue
