I’ve edited many projects myself, and it is sooo miserable to me. It’s great to have it finished, but I could never be an editor.

lol, how is it going through your works? I've been doing this for 10 years , it's a part of the works and you might be growth after that. Sometimes you really want to quit or dismissing everything, but It still there. So if you love editing, just edit and keep cutting xD

After watching TENET, I truly feel half of Nolan's achievement might need to go with Lee Smith to be his editor. Nolan is a great director that can shoot great materials, but TENET's edition is really not on the same level of his other movies. Jennifer Lame definitely is not really capable of editing Nolan films.
@navinsabban65213 жыл бұрын
Editing was not on the mark in Tenet. I can't agree more

Agreed ! I’m scared for Oppenheimer since he’s sticking with Jennifer Lame and Ludwig Goransson again.

Tools for editors? Uhm... For over hundred years or so the main tool of the editor was scissors, glue or sticky tape, and if they were lucky, a tiny projection system they could thread up to look at the results with. In the Video world it got easier later on when you could hook VCRs together and dub things from one tape to another. Easier still with modern NLEs that has basically replaced the moviolas and flatbed steenbecks of old. But in truth. You want the functionality that a pro film editor uses? Find any program that can cut at frame accuracy and you're done. That's it. So long as you can surgically place clips together to get them to play in sequence reliably, then you have the tools that hollywood editors use for 99% of their daily work. The last percent is the fluff combined with export options. What makes their stuff look good? Hard work and talent. Set Walter Murch down with only a Moviola as a tool and he'll just crack his knuckles and get to work within the limitations. The ones with talent makes the tools they have work.

sony vegas is so hard. IMO
@caleb10695 жыл бұрын
Rosegold, it is confusing at first, but it's easier than premier at least,( at least I think it is from what I've seen of premier pro). Sony Vegas is like a really advanced basic editor. don't get discouraged.😊
@caleb10693 жыл бұрын
@Akash Akks Well this is embarrassing. First off, I don't know what avid is. and secondly... yeah. I honestly had no idea what I was talking about when I wrote that comment 2 years ago. I've still never used premier, but since I've never used it, I probably shouldn't have been making assumptions on the difficulty of the software. what is Avid tho? For real. never heard of it.
