I know all too well how much Sedona hotel prices are. We were looking for a single night there in July. I can't really speak to how well this would work out. I know a long standing mantra is to buy where you want to go. Exchanging and booking in through other systems always has risk where if you buy in Sedona you are always guaranteed Sedona.

@@DestinationTimeshare That's something to consider for sure! It is not for sale on Ebay, but I'll look at the resale websites. We used to stay at a Wyndham Hotel, but they recently sold it. We used to get an upgraded jacuzzi room for $150 worth in hotel points per night, or $135 if you had the credit card!

If you have an individual II account, you will pay the annual membership plus the upgrade fee for gold or platinum. The reason they do this is because some people don't pay the annual membership fee of $99. Their II membership may be included with their ownership and paid as part of their timeshare maintenance fees. Thanks for watching!

In the case of points ownership, unless you are buying at least three getaways, Platinum doesn't make sense. The same is true for a gold upgrade, but I suspect you get gold membership included with your ownership?

@@DestinationTimeshare I originally was setup with gold for 1 year but have kept on renewing gold. I guess I could downgrade to normal membership for same benefits.

Well, I can say we have seen sales pop up shortly after price increases. Though the sales usually don't make up for the price increase. Outside of that, they often have popup getaway sales. I also know they had a Daily Deals promotion in early June last year. THough that won't help you for a May vacation. Getaway pricing is also dynamic, so if there are fewer weeks available, they may also increase the price.

Ouch, that is a big increase. Hard to tell with the timing of their sales, but even with a sale, I don't see it getting back down to $337. Usually their sales are $50 or $100 off. Though anything could happen.

Platinum Hyatt Vacations is what used to be Welk Resorts. I don't know a lot about the program, but I do know that if you buy from the developer the points are worthless on the resale market. THey have about a $0 resale value. This of course is true for many timeshares, but buying resale may be a better option and save you thousands of dollars. Thanks for watching!

Platinum members do have something called Priority Viewing for getaways. This is a period of time when a getaway first becomes available that it can only be seen by Platinum members. After a while those getaways will become available to everyone as long as they don't get booked up by Platinum members. That said, the getaways offered under Priority Viewing may not always be cheap. Outside of that, Gold and Platinum members get a discount on getaways, $25 off for Gold and $50 off for Platinum.

Thanks for watching and I can understand the frustration. This renewal policy is horrible. You could literally renew on day 115 after expiration and only get 8 months of Platinum membership. I tried to find reference to it in the Interval International Terms & Conditions but couldn't. There was mention that Platinum Membership is covered by a separate set of terms and conditions but I can't find those. You could try posting about it in the Integral International community on their website or emailing their social media person; tugmembers@intervalintl.com. Mark is the person that usually works that mailbox and he is great to work with, but I don't know if he will be able to help you.

Thank you so much for responding. I have sent very detailed emails to interval international regarding this. In the first instance they attempted to explain the policy, so I then emailed to say that I had read all of the terms and conditions and couldn’t find the policy regarding this issue. The response to this was for them to tell me to read the terms and condition, having clearly not read my email properly. Have just sent them a response to that email, saying that I still can’t find anything relating to this, and asking for a screenshot of where the policy exists. In any case, surely all policies should be easily accessible and transparent to all members. Awaiting a response to that one! I do have the tug interval email address, so will try that one if no luck with the next response, and / or try the community. I’m only asking for the expiration date to be extended from 25th Sep to 31st Dec, so not asking for the world, but reluctant to drop the issue now. 😅 Once again, thank you for your input. Loving your Marriott videos, as have visited them all, apart from Lakeshore Reserve. (Just waiting for that one to be available). Off to grande Vista in September.

It depends on where and when you want to travel. Getaway inventory tends to be leftover inventory. Meaning places with lots of supply and lower demand. Think Orlando, Vegas and even Palm Desert. Mexico often has a lot of getaways available. You will rarely see Hawaii or the Caribbean.

For the most part, all upgrade codes are targeted. Meaning your account must have the associated code tied to it in order for you to qualify. Your best option may be to call II to see if they have any promotional offers available to you. Realize when rejoining, you do need to be more than four months past your expiration for it to be considered a new membership. Less than four months and they see it as a renewal.
