My brother-in-laws son retired at 42 with a pension of approximately $2,500 a month I think he was a Sgt. If he would have been a commissioned officer he could have made double that figure. Military is a good job if you plan to retire in your early 40's. Your sister's BF has it made with a guaranteed income for the rest of his life.
