Hugs to this outstanding lady. The Lynotts are indeed a special family. In 2012, the family including Mrs Lynott told US senator Mitt Romney to stop using the song "The Boys Are Back In Town" as a campaign anthem. The gall that Mitt would use the song as a political tool without permission was very distasteful. Philomena died June 12, 2019, age 88.

Totally agree about distasteful. Lynott’s are special. I’m in their family tree. Lol ❤

She wss such a lovely lady and a wonderful mother. It's the hardest thing in the world, to lose your son . Especially, whenever he's also your best friend. Its good that she had her grandchildren to love and to have her realize she still had reasons to live. How joyful her soul must have felt, whenever she was reunited with him again.

To think I’ve put my own mother through things like this due to the same drug, heroin is an absolute scourge, 20 years of on and off using, I haven’t been a daily heroin user for years now, and I have it once to twice a month nowadays, I guess I still can’t shake that grim fascination with death and darkness and provoking the reaper. Sad thing to get into, 20 years ago I liked it for the escape and the peace, and in the end you do it to escape the fact that you’ve become sad and isolated, and it kills the pain of the true reflection of what you’ve become.
