Asking about his favorite aircraft and getting a story about the US leaving planes at the border with Canada so they can be towed by horse back into Canada and put into service. This is a bit of history that very few people know about. Scott is a diamond in the rough and cant wait to hear more from him. Thanks for this interview Sofi.

Prior to America joining the war, the story of the Americans leaving planes on the border with Canada then turning away while the Canadians would pull them across the border then ship them to Britain... true story. Roosevelt, Churchill, and King all working together.

Absolutely low key museum...and when I was there soo so many very historical and important aircraft! Just GO there....amazing place! And I've not been there for like 18-20 years now? A lot of stuff I've worked on is probably there now....

I think I have seen this setting, the Bf109 in the background, before. I do not remember the exhaust manifolds that seem to be on the red cart to the left of the speaker though.

This is one of many places I want to visit once I am lucky enough to retire in a few more years. Volunteering at a collection like this seems a really fun way to spend time after retirement too.

Been there a couple times and worth seeing but does not compare to PIMA. There are several others it does not compare to as well. I have been to roughly 40 aircraft museums and used to volunteer to one in California for years. She is spending her time in the right place.

If you ever find yourself in the Chicago area, out in the west burbs in Wheaton, IL is Cantigny Park & Museum. It's not Bovington but museum home of the Big Red One and pretty cool. Hope you get to visit!
