Madeline, along with Claudia, has to be the most tragic person in this story. She just can’t get a break! her happiness is so short-lived😢

I love that they didn’t force a sexual relationship with Madeleine and Claudia immediately because the idea of Madeleine being sexually attracted to a 14 year old is creepy, but having something between them grow AFTER she learns Claudia’s true nature is so much better at least for my brain. Even tho they won’t have time to be happy together. 😩

The making of Madeline into a vampire was these most beautiful thing I’ve seen. She was made with such love & tenderness. The writers of this show showed more respect to Madeline’s character in 30 minutes than the movie even attempted in the 90s. I literally was sad watching the betrayal scene the music, the face of shame Armand has, the face of agony Louis has recounting the moment that will forever change them.

I really love the detail in this episode of Louis going from a lovey-dovey romantic story-telling style when reminiscing about Paris in earlier episodes to a more colder, darker version of himself. Most likely because right now he's seething-ly angry at Armand in the present as he recounts the events and so his tone has changed. SO GOOD.

Yes, remember how Louis is looked at as a whiner by Lestat, Armand, Claudia. And looks like Daddy Lestat is back, perfect for Father's Day episode. I want to get to season 3 with Lestat's version and his mom Gabrielle, his Maker Magnus, him being the "wolfkiller". And if they are including these elements from the books about the Talamasca, we may get to the wolf gift stories, Lestat's Body Thief story with Raglan James, etc.

You know you're watching an amazing show when the most conniving, manipulative character, is someone you have sympathy for and actually get where he's coming from... Prediction: just utter sadness 😢..

Theory: the real reason why we are seeing dom top Louis is because he is currently pissed with Armand and those emotions are painting through his memmories as a way of spiting him/ trying to still be in charge of the interview

I was in total shock for like 5 minutes after lestat showed up in the end. lol I really hope we don’t have to wait too long or the next season!

I love IWAV series SO much that I rewatch your recaps and rewatch the episodes to see what I missed that you pointed out! What are we going to do once S2 is over 😞 I enjoy the different spins that the series is adding that are different from the books as well as how they tie in the different books. Me watching this video thinking about how in the books, after Madeline gets turned they only get 7 days together before the go back to her old flat (i think) and that’s where they get taken and then my immediate next thought when you said “they’re letting it simmer” was that they GAVE US 7 DAYS TO SIT WITH THIS BEFORE WE HAVE TO COME HOME AND SEE THEM DIE…. I … hate it here lmao (not actually its just painful)

Louis definitely had his pimp attitude back… I totally felt sorry for Armand even though I knew he was pulling strings from behind the scenes like Geppetto 🤣 That’s just a testament to the amazing acting in this show. I always feel like I’m watching a stage play…

This episode is beautifully sad. I love Claudia and Madeleine, so much. I love their scenes, but my favorite is when Louis changed Madeleine into a vampire. And we see her life and how she sees the beautiful Claudia, and Louis seeing that Madeleine will make her finally happy, my heart hurts because we know they wouldn't live long as vampires, but I am glad they at least traveled together. And the cafe scene, I might be the only one who had cried. Also, I love that we see Armand having feelings (I really love the tv version of Armand just like in the books), being regretful for what he had done. In the book, I remembered that he was ruthless, didn't care at all for what he had done, if he wanted something, he is determined. I do love Armand in the books. He is so fascinating, but I love how they changed him to have some feelings for what he had done. Also, I really didn't care if Lestat came back, I am NOT a fan of the tv version of him (I still prefer Tom Cruise because it was accurate to the book). It wasn't a shocker to me, I knew already. I was like, yeah, whatever. All I know, I am not looking for episode 7, I don't want Claudia and Madeleine to be gone, I loved them, and I know I will cry so hard. I am looking forward to episode 8, when we all know Louis will riot and burn the effin theatre to the ground. And I am here for tragic Louis!❤

I love your reviews. I did want to say though that I don’t think Louis was being a terrible boyfriend in the same instances that you do. Being a dominant to a willing submissive is a real relationship dynamic, and sometimes a kink. But Armand is a true submissive and Louie commanding him to undress is EXACTLY the kind of domination that Armand craves. Did you see how turned on he got 😂😂? Did you hear his answer to Claudia about how he loves not having the responsibilities of leading the coven anymore? He craves being someone’s possession. The second instance, when Louis acquiesced to letting Armand skip the ceremony of turning Madaleine into a Vampire was him recognizing Armand’s limits and discomfort with witnessing it. A D/s relationship is not a bout being cruel. A Dom would not ever want to distress a sub and so Louis was showing care for Armand there. But subs really have all the power, and Armand even moreso, because they make the rules, set the limits and control the flow, which the Dom must agree to….Now, when was Louis being a shitty boyfriend? When he asked Armand to turn Madaleine in the 1st place. With as much heat as he was already getting, because of Louie, him putting Armand in an even more perilous predicament was irresponsible.

I love the opening commentary on Armand, and I do agree louis is being so shitty and I think Amand is trying to keep it together cause Louis is a F-ing hand full!

After this episode with the Daniel and Raglan interaction, I think that Daniel will replace David's storyline. I have no knowledge of Talamasca show, no idea of cast, characters, plot. But think that show could be used as the Body Thief story with Daniel ending up in a younger body and afterwards hes now a young vampire interviewer to continue interviewing with the vampire. Huge change from the books I know. I have no idea how they are doing Queen of the Damned, but feel it may have already happened in the current future so the story could just be told. Showing backstory on all those character involved would be interesting and possibly need to be its own separate tv show (like interview ends after season 3, Queen title takes over). 🤷‍♂️ Season 3 being lestats story interview with young vamp Daniel, so we get Gabrielle, Magnus, Marius etc

I know Raglan is the "Body Thief" from the VC book 📖 by the same name, but it didn't even occur to me while watching the episode to take into account that "Real Rashid" is also an Indian man just like the guy whose body Raglan possesses to offer to Lestat in exchange for Lestat's body 🤯 (although the guy whose body Raglan possesses to offer to Lestat is described as "Anglo-Indian" --- half Indian/ half white 🤷🏾‍♂️?) until you mentioned it!! The connection & implications never occured to me! I'm curious to know if we will discover any body snatching has occured b4 the end of the season. But it was a good point you brought up about the integrity of "Book Louis'" integrity as a character given what era he was born into & his inherited profession as a slave owner. It is the main reason I NEVER fekt sympathy for Book Louis 🤵🏻. His initial reason for being depressed & asking Lestat to turn him in2 a vampire 🧛🏻 was cuz his brother committed sooicyde ⚰. I was like "BIG WHOOP 🙄!" ---- everybody loses some1 to death in their lifetime. At the end of the day, you're still a rich wyte man who owns black 🧔🏿👩🏿‍🦱 slaves & they're watching their own die every day from being over-worked, lynched, & being m8aerable every day --- day in & day out ---- serving your & your ilk's entitled a$$es! So WHO really has a "hard-knock life" 🤨?? As you said, I question Louis' opinion of black people given he born & raised a rich, wyte man during the Open/Chattel Slavery Era. His soul couldn't have felt too convicted about owning slaves --- IF he did @ all, cuz he didn't stop doing it until trying to live life as a vampire became too conflicting with his trade as a slave owner because of the inconvenience caused by his nocturnal nature. And let's be real, there were very few b.ack vampires--- only two I can recall in all of the VC --- Davis (QOTD) & Arion (PL&TROA --- the 3rd 2 last book in the VC), & Louis only had brief, & I believe indirect (they were in the same room but probably didn't speak) with them. So for that reason alone, I felt the race swap had an impactful legitimacy. Without them, Book Louis was totally unsympathetic in my opinion. As for Claudia & Madeleine ---- I believe next episode is gonna show us why so much exposition was given as to the noise the 🐀 make when they get 2 the ❤ of the person they're eating in that "death box" when that 1 vampire was showing Claudia how it operates 😬!! impactful

There are some parts of the script here that I really didn't get. What is in the pages that were ripped out of Claudia's diary? Armand says they ripped them out together, and then says the ones he ripped out on his own were to protect himself from Daniel, because "why do I owe you my greatest shame." At that point I thought he was talking about being complicit in Louis' et al capture. BUT of course that incident couldn't've been in Claudia's diary.

I’m thinking about something that popped up. Ok Armand sent Rashid with Daniel to keep a eye out. I always knew something was up with Rashid. Anyway back to Daniel why is Armand not reading Daniels thoughts. He can read Louis he didn’t make him but I don’t think he can read Daniels. I don’t want to spoil nothing but you know what I’m thinking. If so did he do something to Daniel and do Louis know about them. That can be a show on its own.

I new something like this would happen with the Raglan James story I have a hunch that Daniel is going to be a young man again and later becomes a vampire himself and Louis welcome to the Dark Gift....

Louis isnt much better regarding the removed slavery aspect from the book. He still sold black women as prostitutes under his roof. He confesses how he takes in lost girls and turns them out onto the street to the priest and admits how awful it is.

I swear, if people blame Armand for Claudia death ALONE, I know they didnt read the book or is a hardcore toxic Lestat fan. I blame both Lestat and Armand for Claudia's demise. Lestat was the final straw for her death because he told Santiago to ONLY punish her (but we know he punish both of them), and Armand letting his followers do his dirty work because he wanted Louis to himself. But again, I dont know if the show will only blame or make Armand the ONLY bad guy.

So, how strong is Louis!?

I know it's weird to say but in season 3 i think they have to change the name of the series.. it's going to have to be The Vampire Lestat... because if we get Gabrielle then it's fully lestat's story now...then that's when it gets really good..not to say it isn't already.. just my take

And Louis thinks it's hot that he gets to be bossy. They're playing pretend that Louis is the one with the power. But they both know that Armand only does what he wants. Look at how he refused to make Madeleine.

As a non-book reader who does enjoy your recaps a lot: dropping in HUGE spoilers like "Armand made Daniel a vampire" is a bit... much. I would have loved to find out while watching the show.
