One major problem is that the economy is in the shit. people are cutting on luxuries, and even essentials, Ikea and supermarkets are cutting prices because demand isn't there. And the games industry is jacking prices like they're among the essentials

@@Weberkooks depends a bit where you are, but yes, several major supermarket chains are cutting, well maybe not prices but margins, eating their cost increase

I honestly like the original Nurgle gameplay, I do agree that some of the changes are nice, like military buildings purchasing. I do hope they do that with Khorne military building with skulls, because at some point i have no need for any because I have 60k+ skulls and can't spend them on anything.

I agree with the one point in the video. New LL-s doesn't need to have overcomplicated mechanics. I found myself playing with vanilla lords (Thorgrim for example) more with the release of the new dlc.

Last Defenders (Kroq'Gar's faction) is a decent example - their factionwide bonuses to Saurus Oldbloods change a lot how you manage both your economy and battles, even when they're quite simple number tweaks

DLCs should come with free updates for races that need it - which is all of them, to some degree. This should make the content in the DLC appealing, rather than essential Eg why would I buy SoC when all of those races are still ass to play (Cathay is alright, I guess)

I am surprised Venris did not touch on DLC price, because it was an issue for Poland. DLC for us was overpriced, it costed $31, and not was due to inflation. However our government stepped in, and the price of DLC in Poland was actually reduced. Just a small fun fact.

Hard disagree on Belegars upkeep, I remember they changed it to higher recruit cost in ie release and made the campaign too easy. I really liked the penalty the way it was in wh2. You actually felt the difficulty of getting enough dawi yo follow you in reconquest of k8p, and having the choices of leaving some back in starting province to defend it, or go all in on k8p and leave the start undefended. Just really good challenge, and made the campaign feel different from other dwarfs.

I'm hoping that Khorne and Slaanesh will get at least one more DLC. Where both get their own God touched Gors, while at the same time Khorne gets the Slaughter Brute and Slaanesh gets the pleasure seeker knights.

Completely disagree about Cathay. If anything, Monkey King and beast units could add the more dirty element you are saying is lacking right now. Also, Skaven are not so incredibly and universally loved. A lot of people were frustrated by the focus on them in WH2, they are very annoying to fight, and they were oppressively overpowered in 8th edition TT. I'm sure you know this, since you played it.

You guys mentioned removing the Belekar's upkeep penalty, I actually don't think that would be a good change. What makes Belekar's campaign unique is it forces you to play almost like a psuedo-horde, moving from province to province on the way to Eight Peaks before becoming a big power. Your starting province is impossible to defend, so don't. It's a dwarf horde, and it's extremely thematic to me playing as a dwarf diaspora.

Nice to hear that you guys agree about Cathay, and Venris about Kislev. They do feel too perfect and too strong. Cathay on the campaign side is pretty fun, to be sure, but youre dunking on fools. They have the all the strengths of the rest of the Ordertide rolled into one faction with no weaknesses whatsoever. Same with Kislev, there is 0 feeling of Chaos descending on your lands... youre the one mopping the floor with Archaon. Not to mention lategame Kislev is absolute cancer to face, with their Akshina, Bear and Witcher monster spam... none of which scream 'Kislev' to me. Bear riders sure, but they got like 5 bear-themed units at least. Kislev and Cathay are also overpowered, nigh impossible to defeat factions in land battles as well, and in Domination Kislev is regularly banned even now. Cathay only isnt cuz combined arms factions just suck for Domination if you dont cheese. Well, Empire is also op now mostly cuz their new units, but before they werent.

I love the idea of Cathay as this mystical, ancient, powerful exotic empire. I love the fantasy China aesthetic. What you need to do for them to fit properly into the Warhammer world is to embrace the darkness of the setting and contrast it with the nobility of Cathay. Much like the Empire is beset on all sides and the heroes of the Empire are engaged in a grim struggle to preserve their civilization, so should Cathay be. Focus on the threats, internal and external and show the Cathayans just barely managing to fend them off. Now you have a nobledark aesthetic (as opposed to 40k grimdark), where the heroic forces of an ancient empire are struggling against their doom rising up from all sides and that is very Warhammer Fantasy to me. How to accomplish that in practice? You'd need to put some real effort into it, including some worldbuilding that GW most likely won't let you do. A savage tribes DLC that reworks Norsca and introduces the Kurgan and Hung tribes plus a Cathayan legendary lord, a Kuresh DLC bringing in the southern threat plus a Cathayan legendary lord, and an internal threats DLC featuring the jade-blooded vampires, the monkey king (as a tzeentchian subfaction) and perhaps even some nipponese pirates plus the sixth and final Cathayan legendary lord.

Sounds really good. I suspect that many of these ideas (expanding northern tribes and fleshing out south-east) may have been their original plan even, but then the releases were derailed.

Nurgle was alright from the start in my opinion. Just a bit weak and slow. One of the only Realm of Chaos campaigns I finished (getting Plagueclaws from Skaven allies rocks, as does hero spam for Nurgle if a bit boring.) Tamurkhan is great although I don't enjoy the hero-mechanic. I just pick the same ones every time, and I wish Sayl was in there. His bombardment ability is so random.. does it have any mention in the lore or something?

The fix for the Chaos Gods, and making room on the map... just take The Chaos Gods off the map...make a mechanic where they influence factions to the point of adopting the specific Chaos lord. players who pick a chaos gods lord will be put into a an overseer position, monitoring and maybe manipulating other races to summon the lord you picked. you could further divide all races based on their strengths and weaknesses, and then allow the chaos gods to fill in the holes with damage, tank, speed, range...

Demonic currency would come from the factions you get to worship you. Factons get bonuses based on what they do if they choose to worship. And eventually just absorb the whole faction or multiple factions that were paying tribute, and turn into an End time scenario.

Finally Venris telling the TRUTH rework is fine, but no good!! "people dont understand dev cycle bla bla bla" - ok, what about release state of w3?? what about barebones old faction (elves, empire, lizards etc)? what about goddamn sieges??? what about there no big difference between w1 w2 and w3? i really understand that all works need to be payed, and i buy good games (GoT, BG3 etc) happily and later buy better edition and there no dlc,flc, etc Hmmm looks like its not about dev cycle - just pure CA greed

I never read a comment saying "40K is not supposed to be that big, its not going to work". I dont know with which groups you are talking about TW 40K Nathan. I would argue, Total War is too small for 40K. Atleast, if you want to implement everything, from a guardsman to Titans. I still believe that Steel Division 2 and Warno (Eugen) would be the best go to for a 40K combined arms warfare game, which would only need to get a mechanic for melee and magic. But if CA can go big, then I am happy to be proven wrong.

I hated this “interview” so much. Do you guys ever have anything positive to say about the game? SoC was a mess sure, but we still got very cool units out of it and factions like Tzeentch got needed heroes added (along with replenishment). Kislev is very thematic and fun to play. It needs more fleshing out perhaps, but it’s a new race! The 2.0 SoC changes were legit if you actually play any of these races you’d know that instead of bitching constantly. You guys criticize the devs for “not playing the game”, but the same could be turned on you. I play every race and love them equally. More content for me is usually welcomed, but it feels like you two just lack that passion for the game so it makes me wonder why you even cover it. Is this just about making money from the channel until you get your precious WH40k? And on that topic. Monster hunter world > monster hunter rise is just an idiotic comparison with TWWH3 > TWWH40k. WH fantasy is a completely different theme and some of us don’t really give a shit about 40k. TWWH3 IS the end game for me. I want this to be the best it can be or I want a WH4. Saying hurry up and be done with this game so we can get a better 40k is no better than what GamesWorkshop did and very hypocritical on your part. It’s also a complete betrayal towards your audience who originally subbed for content on WH fantasy.

@@sagacity1071 This isn’t a review channel. Most of the content is hype and speculations. If it was a channel about “critical discussions” I would have never subbed since the views here are a miss for me 3/5 times. You know what a critical discussion would look like? Breaking things down and being very specific and nuanced. Not just listing shit you don’t like as if you’re reading off a restaurant menu. So instead of being like Kislev’s approval race sucks! You say, the system has certain issues like how the AI cheats and doesn’t earn its points so the race feels artificial. Or how if you lose the you can’t declare war on the other faction so you’re stuck with a limited diplomacy option forever. Instead of being like I hate this lore change so much because it’s different from the table top old school lore I know. You could acknowledge that lore can change and that Total War has had an undeniable effect in that regard. This ain’t a book where the author is dead so you HAVE to preserve their ideas. The lore of Warhammer fantasy can change, adapt, and be added to instead of trying to hang on to the broken pieces from the past.

Yeah I suppose, better them being different than them feeling all the same lol. Did not touched Vanilla since sooooo long. Like am willing to wait months beyond an official release just because SFO is so much better than Vanilla, and I did it a couple time already.
