Today I got to interview Jonathan Pototschnik owner of Citi Turf and Service Autopilot. Jonathon has been a legend in this industry for quite some time, both for the content he creates on KZfaq and for his lawn care company producing over ten million dollars a year! This was such a great interview!! My husband and I own a lawn/landscape company and everything Jonathon said is so accurate it's scary~ LOL. The cash flow example is exactly what holds us back from growing.

I had that same problem and got everyone onto autopay. I also got the guys at www.overallsbs.com/ to handle my danged bookkeeping for me.

Excellent video - very Dave Ramsey-ish when LCM explained the opportunities that present themselves for well positioned companies when there is a downturn in the economy. A lot to learn in this video.

I wish it was easy to teach people to think this way. I dont know if he has a college degree, but he doesn't need one. Instead of complaining about how long it takes to get paid, then doing nothing about it, he just fixes the problem. Instead of dismissing cards due to lost %, he thinks of the benefits it can provide then assesses whether its a good move for his business. People need to brain more...

I belive its better to float the 2 months of money yourself. The fact that you saved the money to float it puts your company into a stronger more powerful financial position. it strenthens your balance sheet. You cal always take credit cards first but should save and float first.

this is where i want to be with my lawn care company in 10+ years. lean, debt free, pay employees well, and scale my company every single year. awesome interview... BUT you should learn from other youtubers about how to properly shoot an interview. sorry for being nit-picky... former professional videographer here...

I live in a medium to large metropolitan area and have a lot of small to medium sized lawns with small gates and I push mow them all, they're quick yards I usually spend around 30 to 35 minutes on each yard solo and can do 8 in 5-6 hours, I enjoy these smaller yards for that reason and am working on getting to 12 per day and keeping them mostly close together

Great video, although you can tell this guy has "it" and no matter what he did he would be successful. But like he said, if you take his advice you wont get close to what he makes but even 1/4 of his revenue for anyone is a great living.
