I went to see my doctor, back when i had problem sleeping. Then he went on to explain in debt what sleeping did and why we needed, aside from the obvious "you need rest" and what was REM sleep, if i spelled ot right. By the end of our convo, i got to learn that some people can get most of their rest below 8 hours.l, even below 5 hours. If i could guess, he, somehow, is able to access a rested state without sleeping, or rather, much sleep.

80 yrs old who smokes and drinks more than a 20 yr old is insane. The amount of alcohol he consumes is far beyond normal healthy limits. When I was in college I’ve been few to a college parties where they had drinking games which was fun but at the same time I was at the point of passing out. I drink more than my body could handle and had the worse hangover the next day. but this old man here would be the undisputed champ of drinking and smoking. He’s truly the definition of living your best life while you still have one to live

quick story time: As a child, my parents struggled to get me to nap or to sleep at night. I laid there cuz i was highly imaginative and never get bored, but when they came in to check on me, they were always baffled I was awake. Eventually, they stopped checking in on me over the years and naturally, I would go to sleep and wake up early...but i never knew HOW early until 5th grade where me mum told me to learn how to use an alarm clock. So now, I got to stare at a clock as I lay awake on the floor. Turns out, I would start to fall asleep off an on between midnight and 2am, be asleep at 2:30am ...but wake back up at 5:47am (i have no idea why its always that time). I never thought much about it until my teacher said kids need an average of 10 hours of sleep and I said I did not get that. Long story short, I have SSS (short sleeper syndrome) and it has gotten worse as I have become older. If I don't take sleepy medication, I don't sleep for two and half days and when I do-- Its like, 2-3 hours. Seeing this doco is making me think its an extremely random phenomenon rather than diet, trauma or environment like I used to think...
