@@olivermartinez2668 facts, once he became the face of the franchise, the series went to another level. Credit, it felt like the Green Ranger couldn’t withstand a battle without help. Once Tommy became the White Ranger, that to me was the turning point. He was the star & we could see this in “White Light” part 2 when he arrived and was named the leader. From there, season 2 was arguably difficult to top.

Tommy was so goated he came back like 5 times in different generations and was always OP. Rita made a clone of the dude just to have a chance.

Here is the reason why they did that in those episodes in the Sentai series from which Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was derived from Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger the red and green rangers were brothers, and in this iteration, the Rangers existed since prehistoric times, and they were in suspended animation. The green ranger also was in suspended animation, but while that was going on due to geological shifts, his body was crushed to death by rocks, and this spirit of life had restored him to life, but there was a caveat to it, it was a green candle, and when that candle was completely burned out, he would die and if he was a side of a special room, then time would not pass but once he is out of the room, then the candle will continue to burn down so this is why in the sentai series he would disappear after they would fight against the monster of the week if you will and ultimately what ended up happening was that in Japan at that time, the network actually had a vote where the viewers could give the choice as to whether or not the green ranger would live or die, and while the vote was overwhelmingly in favor of him living, the producer still decided to let the character die, anyway, just to convey to the audience, that sometimes heroes just die and Power Rangers they obviously didn’t want to go the route of death, so it would just be the fact that he would be depowered. Ultimately his character proved to be really popular with the fans so they decided to bring him back and they asked for Toei who did Sentai series to shoot new scenes for the remainder of season one which they called the Zyu 2 footage.

Yep. Zordon was out of commission, the Megazord got banished to elsewhere, even Jason was stuck in the Dark Dimension for a while. It was all but won for Rita. I just never understood why Angel Grove had to be the target of her attacks when she could've had the whole planet.
