I’ve also recommended your channel to so many people I’ve met who either wanted to learn embroidery or who were having trouble finding instruction on a certain technique. It’s grown because you’re such a good teacher and put so much time and effort into your content. It’s been a huge inspiration to me personally.

Hi Sarah, I am probably one of your most recent viewers, but I have learnt so much from you already. I have been an avid Cross Stitcher for many years but recently changed lanes to the most enjoyable experience of learning the art of embroidery. Stumpwork has also recently caught my attention. You make it so easy to follow and learn, thank you and keep up the good work 😊

Funny how I am listening to you now here in the Philippines whilst unravelling a skein of silk embroidery thread that I bought from your Royal School of Needlework shop in Hampton Court during a visit when I brought my beloved mum for a tour back in 2001! How strange. Thank you so much for sharing your works but especially how you do them. You are so inspiring. Your works are beautiful. Just watching you do the embroideries relaxes the mind, mesmerising. Has kept me sane if not many more during this pandemic. Thank you very much, Miss Sarah Homfray. x

Thank you Sarah, it's really good to see how people start out in one direction in life and then life takes them in a completely different one. When I was doing some RSN day classes, my Mum asked me why the RSN? My reply was simple, if I'm going to learn, I might as well take advantage of being taught by the best in the world. She fully agreed. Lovely to see Miss Pinky putting in an appearance. My 4 cats think she's rather camera shy! Exactly like their Mum.

Loved the video as always. I found some embroidery that my Mum had done in the 1950s and wondered if I could do it. Got some books, found her hoop and put some calico in it and began to teach myself, with some success. Then I found you tube and yout videos, which are slowly taking me to a whole other level. I have had to retire because of chronic illness and your videos have given me a new 'job'. Never underestimate what a difference you and your husband (and cats of course) can make to people's lives with these videos and your amazing talent.. Keep 'em coming Sarah. X

Hi from Bristol. Lovely to hear how you started. You are right it is good to learn new skills. I sew, knit, crochet and am learning to needle punch and embroider. Drawing, no can do. I once went to a drawing class and I left the course because I couldn't do it.😖. Perhaps, I will try learning again. Would love to be able to draw flowers. Your drawings and painting are fabulous. You are talented. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏿

The RSN! Wow, what a great opportunity. I've seen some works from students at the RSN and they are always gorgeous. American women like me don't have a traditional school like that, sadly - at least that I know of where I am in the midwest. Like you I have always had an interest in embroidery but rarely had the time until the pandemic. Your videos have been extremely helpful in getting going and setting up. BTW - That is a beautiful textile hanging behind you - from your travels? Thanks for posting this glimpse into your embroidery life.

My attitude is that if a day goes past without me learning something then it has been a day wasted. I'd say that your time spent travelling is one of your best investments - the exposure to other cultures is something of immense value especially if you are of a creative nature. When I decided that I needed to get an idea of what can be done with embroidery I had a look at a few youtube channels and have to say that yours stands out simply because of you. You communicate very well and at a pace that even my slow grey matter can take in. The fact that you are UK based and have a shop where I can buy any supplies I might need are bonuses that I'm happy to take. Having started off just wanting an insight into gold work (which I thought was all there was to embroidery) I'm finding my brain pulled in all sorts of different directions thanks to your wealth of great videos so thank you very much for massively increasing my work load!!! 🤣😁🤗💐

Sarah, I truly enjoyed hearing about your journey to textiles and embroidery. I have often thought how wonderful it would have been for me to pursue a career (in retrospect at 66+.) My mother taught me all domestic things: sewing, needlework, cooking and housekeeping; however, I wish I had been steered towards continuing education in needlework as well as cooking/baking, which I also love. I believe we should continue to learn something new each day! The world is a wonderful place! Thank you for sharing your story. I would not have understood the additional asset of drawing and painting in needlework!

So nice listening to your journey and the way your embroidery journey began. I love trying something new and stretching myself, I’ve done a couple of your kits that were definitely out of my comfort zone but I thoroughly enjoyed them. Drawing would be a great video to watch as I would like one day to create an original of my own … I look forward to all future videos and thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us 👍🏼😊

Awesome Sarah! I love hearing about how you got into embroidery and your background. I love stitching but right now I mostly do cross stitch. I would love to learn embroidery. I love taking classes and expanding my knowledge. I am always eager to learn. Keep the videos coming. Thank you for doing these videos.

What a wonderful video! Thank you Sarah for sharing with everyone. I used to embroider when I was younger and took it up again during the pandemic and as you said went to KZfaq for some much needed instruction. When I found your channel it was a real find and helped me so much. Your videos are excellent and I especially like Gingercat 🐱when he makes an appearance!! I look forward to more chit chats and hope you can fit them into your schedule.

I so enjoyed learning a bit about your embroidery journey. I have been inspired by and learned so much from you including an online learning course of yours which is an absolute favorite course for me. Even when taking other's courses, including the RSN's online classes, I find I often look up the technique on your website for greater clarification. Additionally, I take advantage of your shop and get things so quickly way over here in Glendale, Arizona! Thanks for all of the inspiration!

Yes I agree! Keep learning ☝🏽My artistic block has been decimated and I’m enjoying learning new things from you…you are so creative! Crafting yay! I am also a cook so my creativity spills over to food and using all kinds of herbs and spices instead of just salt..baking too! Of course my kitties watch me discover things and promptly take to napping…still listening while I’m cross stitching…thank you for all your stories and knowledge. I wish I had a studio to paint. to whittle/ carve wood, craft and make jewelry in a separate space..well since I do all this stuff in my studio apartment, I either use my room or kitchen table 🤷🏻‍♀️ especially during this pandemic..well thankfully a lot of crafting can be done anywhere…thank you❣️🙏🏽🙋🏻‍♀️Mia

Thank you Sarah for this information. Following illness and time away from work I returned to stitching in 2019 , this became a godsend as we moved into lockdown. I used your videos as a refresher course. Crewel work was tried and enjoyed and slipped into bead embroidery, here was the two things I really enjoyed stitching and jewellery making. Kits were easier (all the things ready for you) but you had to accept the patterns available. I have now recognised that I need to design my own artwork. I came back to your videos for some help , well needless to say I am now binge watching them and finding each one fascinating. Gold work, stump work the list is endless . I have now subscribed and looking forward to many more areas to experience. Thank you for sharing your expertise and experience.

What an amazing experience to participate in the Hampton Court program. I'm from the states and had the good fortune to be there just before the pandemic started. What a tremendous display of workmanship and power those tapestries must have been. Of course we've never met, but from your videos you seem to be a humble person, and rarely hinted at the prestigious, formal and professional experiences you have had! You have really helped me as I begin to rediscover the joy of needlework, and I appreciate you sharing your tips, wisdom, and experiences with us... particularly those of us who are new. :)
