This is an excellent clear informative and practical explanation of what to many can appear an overwhelmingly complicated subject. Thanks for sharing this, greatly appreciated.

This was very useful, thank you. I apologise for the criticism, it seems there are some who are unwilling to admit they do not have the capacity to understand this. You explained this complex program very well. Thank you.

Hi Heather, if you are getting the same ethnicity breakdown in most all admixture groups in Gedmatch, does that mean that is what you are? The only one I find that did not give me "South Asian Indian" is Eurogenes K36 , I wonder is it because there is a ethnicity group for "Indo-chinese" and that is where they put my DNA in? I wonder why Ancestry DNA, just gave me 30+/60+ Polynesian and Asian, when I don't really have that high amount of Polynesian basing the amounts I got in Gedmatch admixtures.

@ DIY Genealogist: This is what I was looking for. Main question: Most of what I'm looking for as a search and confirm tool is from the 10th gen and going further back in time. How can GEDmatch help with that ?

Will this tell me if I am a descendant of Levites? All I have is word of mouth at this point. Will it breakdown my Jewish ancestry for me?

I had a hard time following you. You would say; “scroll down to here” “My number in this column”..... I do appreciate you trying to help, but this is hard enough. Looking at columns, numbers and words that I do not understand and this video doesn’t even help me follow where you are going makes it so much harder. I just can’t continue watching.

Law enforcement might as well operate as DNA testing companies from here on out.

This all seems to be going rather swimmingly until you dig a bit deeper. Google Michael Usry Jr!

I don't have one, but I remember feeling that way when I got started with it. It has a learning curve unlike anything else I've ever used for genealogy. They would benefit from hiring a web designer to simplify their front end user experience. I'm hoping now that they're taking donations, they can invest a little more in changing things up.

You need to speak up. Can barely hear you. Ive looked at other youtube tutorials as well: completely useless. Someone said you need a Phd to use this. I agree Gedmatch is useless.
