Here Arnaq tells the Myth of Kaasassuk. It is a greenlandic myth passed down from her ancestors and she tells it in its' original langauge; Kalaalisut.
Kaassassuk is the story of an orphan who was mistreated by his community.
An elder man told the kid to call for a great spirit. The spirit granted the young boy great powers. He used his newfound power to take revenge, but learned to be at peace when he was finally bested in battle.
If you want to support our work you can consider helping us out on www.patreon.com/asmrchess.
We are still working on setting up a workflow that will enable us to translate the videos, but since this is a time-consuming process we've decided to keep recording and releasing videos while we figure it out. Ultimately we'd also like to animate the stories so you guys can immerse yourself fully in the ancient myths of Greenland.
We are recording on twin Sennheiser MKH50 for that sweet binaural and high-end sound. We don't have a soundproof studio, but if we get enough support and views we will build one. We basically hope to make the absolute best ASMR videos we can.

Hello. I'm full blooded Navajo and I haven't heard Inuit before, but I'm really surprised at how similar it sounds to our language. There are some sounds I haven't heard anyone non Navajo be able to pronounce until now. I found myself repeating some of your words. It's so cool lol. Our people are ancient cousins. Really glad I stumbled upon this. Much love.

@@solar0wind I believe Inuktitut is a different (but similar) language spoken in eastern Canada. This is Kalaallisut, one of three Greenlandic languages. From Wikipedia, they all fall under the Inuit language group. And there’s more info if you search on the LanguageLearning subreddit for anyone else who’s a big language nerd like me.

In my considered opinion this is the perfect storm of ASMR. The language and the way you convey the story is nothing short of magical. And maybe it's just me but you seem to get more comfortable with this with each video. And animating the stories (yes, I read the description) is a great idea. I dabble in digital art (some people insist I'm an artist) and for the longest time I had this crazy idea to make short (animated) films of world myths. Coincidence? I most certainly think so!

Nothing much else helps. I don't have help from NHS, can't afford private psychiatrists even though I've not seen them be helpful for other people who could afford them either. I'm a care worker on minimum wage in the UK, I found out recently that cleaners get paid more than care workers here... I'm happy for the cleaners, but puzzled as to why care workers don't deserve the Living Wage.

Omg insane cool language! It sounds to me like a mix of yakuts, ancient scandinavian, turkic, korean and even some arabic kind of pronouncings. Although yakuts, (ancient) skandinavian, turkic and korean have a altaic language lign. But I never checked info about greenlandic language before. But what surpises me the most is, many words are repeated often or it just sounds like that to a foreigner as me 🤦🏼‍♀️ i am now going to do some research on this 😍 even though i am a polyglot, tbh i never had a hard time repeating a language but i have with greenlandic! So cool people can talk in so many incredibly different ways, but our hearts always say universal stuff 🫶 its like i followed the whole story without knowing a word 💕💕💕

I know you want to make it the best experience possible but personally I don't need a translation and no animations. For me this would take away from the experience actually! I like it the way it is. I briefly know the plot of the story she's telling and that's just what I need to enjoy it. A translation or animations would take me away from the relaxation and the simple joy of listening to that beautiful language, taking my thoughts away into another place and time. Helping me disconnect from the modern world with it's accelerating pace and bringing me into a mind state, closer to myself and nature.

Sonoki82 It is not racist. We enjoy the stories in het native language, but can not fully understand the story because we don't speak Inuit. Yeah I agree with majority of comments on here. Your story telling is amazing, and I would love to sit around a fire under the stars and listen to your stories. You really should think about starting your own channel, because your voice is so relaxing along with the story telling. I would love if one day you might re - tell the stories in English.

If I were dying of cold in the tundra and she came along speaking this, I would die happy.

I feel like these stories should never be translated... Like they belong only to those who were born into that world... But getting to hear the stories, even without understanding them, is one of the great blessings of our era

This was my favorite sleep video, but not there are too many ads. She speaks so softly and the ads are sooo loud. Makes me sad.

Depends on where you live, here in Denmark, the ads are only in the beginning of the video.

Well, if i'm not mistaken we did migrate all the way from Mongolia through Alaska and Canada. So in a sense, it's your story, we probably just remixed it. 😅
