The plant they were talking about is called “Bell patha” (Gods leaf) in bhojpuri language. I came across it’s fruit while traveling through india many years ago, it is commonly used in the preparation of the indian narcotic called, “Bhang” which is used during religious celebrations, especially in relation to Lord shiva. The product is diluted many times and served to devotees as “Prasadam” or fruit. I actually had the privilege of trying the Bhang without unnecessary additions, i slept for 2 days straight, peed in my pants and was whacked out of my mind. Most people thought i was dead. So in relation to this documentary i feel its very applicable in making an individual seem like his dead. The indians drink it with milk, i did with just the juices from the fruit.

I'm from India and in here you can buy Bhaang anywhere in India there's are special shops which will sell you Bhaang they don't sell to Foreigners but ask any Indian to buy them for you. I never had it but I'm planning to try some Bhaang.

What was pictured here was not datura. Datura was actually shown in one of the tripping on frogs episodes of this series when Hamilton was on a quest to find a DMT containing plant. It is distinguishable by its white or purple trumpet shaped flowers and spike covered seed pods. Im not sure about every place it grows but I do know it grows in southern california and other parts of the world. The entire plant is toxic/ poisonous and should not be consumed in any form. It does have a psychoactive alkaloids such as scopolamine, hyoscyamine, and atropine. In some cultures it has been used as a poison and as a hallucinogen. This is not a safe plant to consume. If you want to find out more about what the high from this plant is like listen to some of the trip reports and it will further detur you from taking this plant. The lucky few that survive after ingesting this plant have a psychotic break that can last for many weeks. I can't stress the seriousness of this enough. This plant is highly toxic and poisons. The reason for all of this is because of young kids/ teens in my area will go and find this plant and consume it to get the high. Most will die. Every plant is different and there is know way to know how much is a lethal dose. If you need even further convincing to stay away from this plant just know that not even Hamilton was going to consume it in the tripping on frogs episodes. DO NOT TAKE THIS PLANT.

According to UNICEF and child rights groups, there are about 225,000 to 300,000 slaves living in Haiti today (most of which are children). During the Haitian Revolution, the number of slaves are reported to be around a half-million. During the height of slavery in the U.S., the number of slaves are reported to be around four million. While the number is child slaves in Haiti today is appalling and needs to change, you probably shouldn't make claims like that without a little research first.
