It's not just a Star Trek Theory. Most of the way we think about teleportation revolves around this. A part from folding space-time, to go from A to B, it will require to destroy and recreate the body; and thus transfering the mind. So yeah... It's basically dying, and creating a clone, each time.

Then she was lying, and making him feel awful for no reason other than to make him feel bad. No matter how look at it, what she did was awful.

@@BigFry9591 Nope, her pain was genuine and she wasn't just going to forget about that. Her lie was her saying that she already knew when she didn't know. That isn't what made Mark feel bad. Amber felt dumb about not knowing and so pretended that she did as she was trying to put on an "unbothered" mask to pretend that she wasn't hurting but she clearly was. The reason why is that she is self-aware that she really loves him and keeps forgiving and overlooking his constant lies and standing her up. Feeling unwanted and like a chump. That burns and then when he left her in danger as far as she knew in the College campus. Now while that was explained by him being a superhero it was basically 5 months of transgressions where getting an explanation doesn't erase the pain even if valid. Mark was unaware what he was doing to her and this is why having a relation with a civilian that is unaware of you being a hero is a bad thing. Mark's only transgression was having such a relationship before he knew how to time manage. Mark wasn't wrong to save the lives and stand her up but he just overestimated how much he could do at once. It all comes down to what Eve said, and Mark was foolishly going to try to give up being a hero but it isn't in his nature to just watch others get hurt or die when he could do something about it. If he had stuck to wanting to be a hero I reckon he would have told her at the college and everything would have went swimmingly. Mark didn't quite realise that he was on really thin ice by that point and so one more disappearing act would end the relationship for a time at least. I still maintain that Amber is like a self-aware Mark-simp. She saw him get beaten up on TV and was like "not my baby". Plus she worked out that Omni man was his father and so knew he was hurting 1 million times more than she was. The best thing about Amber in this season 1 is that she actually has lines before Omniman leaves. In the comics I believe that Mark and Amber begin their relationship in college whereas here they start in highschool. Eve is definitely end game but Amber and Mark are hopefully going to be really great friends in this series. Who knows maybe she can user her smarts to help Mark and Eve in the future battles to come. I also like that Amber and Eve are good friends. Amber was done dirty in the comics up to this point.

Yea. While he doesn't necesarily have a responsibility to tell her, he didn't really treat her in a way she felt valued. Missing dinner with mother by hours, multiple broken promises, trying to buy his way out of trouble... i agree with William, he was a bad boyfriend. Not even mentioning, William could hate him for letting that happen to Rick.

@@Iejir_Isk On the other hand, making dinner and letting people die wouldn't be all that great. I don't think Debbie (?) was pissed at the no-shows, but at the excuses. She did compliment him in their first date for his honesty. But again, I don't think it was his right to tell her off the bat.

And, I don't think he should have told her, but if he couldn't make the time for her, or at least not try to buy her favor, he should have broken it off long ago. he could have been more honest. i think she wanted to like him. and, to be frank, his excuses were... bad and obvious lies. And, he'd been stringing her along for months with half and broken promises. frankly, it was a toxic relationship to her.
