O Enlil, mighty ruler of the Anunnaki,
Whose voice thunders across the land,
We call upon you, Lord of the Air,
Whose breath animates the world.
In the shadow of your temple, the E-kur,
Where heaven and earth unite,
We stand with hearts open and hands raised,
Seeking your wisdom and grace.
You, who decreed the fates with Enki,
In the depths of the Abzu,
Guide us with your unerring judgement,
And bless us with your benevolent gaze.
As the shepherd of the skies,
You command the winds and the storms,
Bring forth rain to nourish the fields,
And breathe life into the seeds of creation.
Enlil, bearer of the Tablets of Destiny,
Your will shapes the cosmos and its myriad paths,
In your vast dominion, from Dilmun to the netherworld,
May your divine order reign supreme.
With the spirit of Ninlil, your consort,
And the wisdom of Nisaba,
May our words please you,
As sweet hymns from the Etemenanki.
Accept our invocation, O great Enlil,
As we walk in the light of Nanna,
May your mighty wind protect and guide us,
Today, and in all the days to come.
