Good thing to secure those wheelie-dumpsters. The refuse companies will charge you to replace 'em , if you lose 'em! Hail in these circumstances, becomes ultra-ballistic, ultra-lethal, generating secondary shrapnel, ricocheting like bullets, making the same sound, too. Things will look like they were run through the compactors in auto wrecking-yards. It didn't take outrageously high wind speeds, those above 150MPH, just the wind partnered with ballistic hail to bring down houses, schools, ag. infrastructures, etc. Seeing perforated cars and livestock out in the open, was chilling indeed.

The lack of trees here made it look much more tame than neighborhoods less tahn a mile away where lots of trees were damaged. Our neighbors had a close encounter with someone's trampoline that I watched fly 20' in the air and land just feet from their house. I wish I'd had my camera on that...would have made for something much more interesting.

It started in the Nebraska South Dakota area. Once it hit here in iowa it got worse. I live in Waterloo iowa..Cedar Rapids is about 2 hours from me. We got the top part of this storm. I think alot had to do with wide open plains the Midwest has. We are a part of tornado alley after all.
