Oh my goodness. I felt like I was reliving my final exams all over again. It's been a while since I've felt so high strung and anxious. It was totally worth it though. These are great instructions and I'm so thankful for it! And I feel so much smarter now. Thank you!

HINT: when your hand is between the camera and your phone, WE CAN'T SEE WHAT YOU ARE UNSCREWING.

So I've JUST finished doing this for my sisters iphone 4 and it works just perfectly. I wasn't sure if there would be slight differences with models in the UK to this one which I assume is bought in the US but there wasn't. £10 repair kit including new screen off eBay and a little patience later and I've fixed it. Trickiest bit is the side case screws but no biggie. The vid misses out screwing the vibrating motor back in but just do everything in reverse and you shouldn't go wrong. Thanks for the upload

Great video. Just a warning. Camera was not removed from board before removal. Also, no explanation on reinstalling vibrate motor. Also, reattaching the lead on speaker unit.

I'm an electronic engineer and I used to do safety testing of mobile phones including the Li-ion battery. I have some very important safety tips: 1. do not use a metal implement to remove the battery. If you accidentally nick the battery it could burst into flames (I'm being serious). 2. handle the battery with care, do not squeeze it or drop it or allow it to get hot or wet or damp, do not damage the end nearest to the battery connection 3. to safeguard the electronics in the phone wear an anti-static strap. mainly I would not advise anyone to attempt this unless they are well versed in electronics, unless you are prepared to risk damaging the phone beyond further repair. just mind that battery!

if you are doing thing,,, you are totally going to HATE those screws that holds the display.... the 4 in the corners and the 6 along the side... this is my 4th hours doing this....

The ribbon cable on my new screen wasn't long enough so when I went to connect it it broke and now the screen is useless so I'm just going to sit here and cry

I came to see how you moved the speaker mesh and front facing camera ring from the old screen to the new one. You simply did not bother. The new display you installed did not have a mesh, but when it was completed it appeared you had installed it, but never showed how you transferred them.

man, u gotta be careful when making a video! You miss quite a few steps and if a first timer was watching they may well be very confused! At which point did u remove the camera? Your speech at mother board installation was completely backwards..." above the 3 on the right and below 2 on the left?" Not mention of vibrator motor reinstallation diode reconnection And the view for the battery bracket completely blocked Great work however..! nice refresher for those who have done it before.

This was great help!!! During the re-assembly you skipped the vibrate motor so i forgot it the first time haha but i had an issue with my sim card. my phone kept saying no service and the sim card was sort of hard to insert. i started all over and did it again to come to the same conclusion. i looked up online and saw people kept mentioning the speaker? I applied a little bit of pressure and it snapped together, put everything back together and it worked perfectly

i love the way you showed the whole process with half the iphone off the screen + you hands in between everything at 10:15 to 10:40 i scrapped my touch screen because of this little part thanks.

Managed to successfully replace screen and back using just this video. Whole procedure took me about 3 hours, and I would like to think im good at this stuff! The instructions are good but could be better. clearer picture of what you're doing would help, a lot of the time you hands are in the way of what you're doing... But still couldn't have done it with out this vid! Thankyou!

Used this video to replace my screen with my dad yesterday, was a complete success! only problems we encountered with the video were the re-assembly at the end telling us to put the camera back in (which we think we were never told to remove in the disassembly half of the video) and not mentioning to put the little motor back in before all the teal red orange yellow and red screw bit, but we soon realised! overall extemely helpful and couldn't have done it without this vid, thanks.

Thanks for the video, just finished replacing screen and backplate and phone looks as good as new. Only bits missing on the video for reassembly was fitting vibrating motor but that was straight forward and reconnecting the small cable from the speaker. Im in the UK and got both items from ebay - screen with digitizer £21 (including tool set) & backplate £7 approximately. Thanks again!............
