i like how short these "repair" videos are but they can't really be called repair videos because you stop half way through and its rarely just a reverse of the steps...I guess i would just like to see you install new adhesive for the battery and maybe the screen then the rest is truely a reverse of the steps... either way great video, and I love what you guys are doing two thumbs up =]

I think they did it this way, because it is just a "sneak peak" and for the full repair we should head to their website, which explains it in more detail and where you can also ask on the forums. That should (hopefully) give us the best knowledge before attempting a repair^^

Thanks! I've replaced my battery on my own thanks to your guides and your replacement kit, the apple authorized repair shop wanted from me 90% of the price of new iphone 8 for replacing the battery because of the apparent water damage. I did not see single thing indicating that the water got inside, but what i'v seen was all of the original glue just melted way before I've started disassembly. I know that because i had sim card connectivity issues and the whole sim tray was covered in dark glue. It happened way before me disassembling the device

Apple Execs in early 2000s: "Guys, let's make it practically f**king impossible to replace our iPhone batteries so technically inept people just buy new phones instead. ANNNND, let's write some code into our device software that will ensure battery health plummets after about 1-1/2 years...After-all, we're Apple, we can do whatever we want because people love buying our shiny new sh*t boxes."

I'm not sure a how-to-replace-your-batttery video is the right place to claim it's "practically f**ing impossible". I've replaced batteries in each of my 2 previous iPhone and looks like iPhone8 will be no exception. Batteries are wear items. Unless you have proof of this "nefarious Apple code", you're engaging in Libel.

This "tutorial" doesn't show anything, and certainly not how to actually replace the battery. Seems more like a too-good-to-be-true infomercial. Thumbs down.
