Abe The Egyptian Pharaoh I know, My iPhone X is still rocking out 85% battery capacity, the only thing that I can complain is that I went with 64GB, should have gone with 256GB to be more future proof. But other then that I love my iPhone X.

Very interesting video, Aaron! I’ve used the XR since January and am now using the Pro Max since launch. I’m definitely seeing a (small) difference in the colors between the LCD and OLED phone. Really happy with the display on the 11 Pro!👍

For sure, it’s a great phone. The newer ones are not that different so, it’s a reason to keep it as long as you can. You make always profit from keeping your phone a long time, in that time, newer phones come down in price and when it’s time for you to upgrade, you can get the best phone for your buck. I think the LCD displays on iPhones are made by Japan Display Inc. For the colors and temperature, I like it the most on the iPhone XR, maybe because I got mostly used to it. Thank you for making this video and the great comparison, and wish you Happy Holidays!

While iOS doesn't have color temperature adjustments within the display settings menu, there is a color filter option within Accessibility - Display Accommodations which allows you to adjust the white point, color tint, etc. You can actually make pretty significant OS-wide color adjustments there.

I agree. All this controversy about Color temperature. Idk why there isn’t RGB sliders in settings like there is on every modern display from junk computer monitors to high end TV’s. people aren’t stupid and the ones that care about this will just adjust it instead of making iPhone look bad online. I think the S10 and the 11 Pro’s look best here. The XR looks very green and gross. But like he said all displays are different. Go into the Apple Store you can see several iPhone 13’s side by side and the white balance is all different. Why not just give the user RGB sliders. I f craigslist computer monitor has this option

You can calibrate iphone display color and remove yellowish tint by going to Settings Accessibility Display Turn on color filter Select colour tint Set intensity 0% Set hue to 75%

I have a iphone8+ 256GB i will keep it as long as i can. Super fast good battery good photos, super reliable, touch id, why changing? Apple continue to try to offer me 400$ rebate , i don’t want it. I prefer 8+ form factor and screen to new no border shitty oled screen with faceid

Every display even from the same assembly line will have a colorshift due to flaws in the manufacturing. Apple does not color calibrate iPhone displays so it’s whatever the tolerance is that’s set by the manufacturer for a passable display. So it’s not dependent on the phone but the individual display, so each iPhone 11 pro for example will have a different color shift and different level of color accuracy.

Nice, Aaron! Still, I wonder if your camera being off-center from phone to phone makes a difference? I had the opportunity to see a Galaxy fold today that a client at the office had - off center, there was a clear difference in the two sides of the open phone but, looking at it directly (on center) showed no difference - I was quite impressed, more than I thought I would be. Again, thanks, Aaron, great background info about the various displays, as well! :)

On Settings under Accessibility; go to Display & Text Size, and choose COLOUR FILTERS... You can change the colour temperature.

I use it all of the time. It’s really cool how the screen will adjust depending on the light in the room. Makes reading the screen in different environments easy on the eyes.

I definitely prefer the oled display compared to the LCD in the plus model phones. I had the 6 Plus, 7 Plus and 8 Plus which were all great phones but I love the pro max. The 8 Plus was one of my favorites also as well as the XS max.

In my opinion the Xr screen looks better than the 11. Which is strange as on paper the screens are identical.

Ant Biggs yeah I have the XR and my mother has the 11. I think the difference is in the True Tone. The XR looks way different in the same lighting conditions but looks the same when we put True Tone off.

Coming from always using a phone with an OLED screen, I’ve sacrificed OLED for iPhone 11 and I can definitely notice the difference in colour. I force myself to like the screen, but do miss the OLED a lot. I will consider the pro max. Great review, as always. 🙏👍👍

Ammaar Syed if you are using 720p iPhone like 8, XR, 11 you aren’t going to notice any difference on resolution but if you put a 8plus, X or 11 pro next to an other iPhone and play an Full HD video you can notice de difference. Even if you look closer you can see the pixels on the lower screen resolution ones.

They’ve probably got True Tone on, I’ve noticed it made my screen a lil “yellowish” it’s because of the ambience. It was even like this with my iPhone 8+ before I upgraded to the the one I have now which is the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Nice video, Aaron. Just a suggestion: on future comparisons, maybe you can Set up a flag (black foam board) above the phones that will cut down on the glare/reflections of the ceiling and the light bouncing around the room. Due to glare and reflections, the 2 pro's on the right look a little washed out. Just my $.02

They do look a little washed out in the video, but they look more vibrant in person so I’m not sure what’s going on with that. It’s probably some compression or something like that that the camera is doing. Your suggestion is a good one though

I have the iPhone 11 pro, and upgraded from the iPhone 6. The display on the 11 pro is so beautiful, and the colors are very accurate. As well you can often see the older phones is very “unrealistically” bright in the colors, while I think the 11 pro look really natural.

Yes OMG finally someone is talking about it. My 11 Pro is more to a yellow tint. I’ve had two 11 Pros (for non related reasons) and both were slightly warmer so I think that’s just had they’re calibrated this year.

29kalel Well I prefer it on, it’s easier on my eyes. I mean without True Tone it’s still slightly warmer than my iPhone 7 that I came from. I never had True Tone on my iPhone 7 so now I have it and used it for a bit I prefer it, but overall even with True Tone off the display is warmer than what my 7 was that’s what I’m trying to say.

krishna teja I’ve just learned to live with it really and I love he phone on every other way too much to care. The only time I notice it, is say if I look at something on someone elses phone and go back to mine, then I do, but I have True Tone on anyway so when I turn it off, In my brain the screen does look bluer.

Then you'd be comparing each phone at different brightness levels. 50% Brightness on the iPhone 8 is far dimmer than 50% on the 11 Pro, for example.

I’ve made quite a few videos about that. Low power mode is only designed to be used when you are at 20% and need to preserve power. It reduces the power of the processor so you really don’t want to use it as it does that and disables a bunch of features

I have an iPhone 15 Pro and I first thought it had a slightly warm display when compared to my iPhone Xr and iPad. I also have a professionally calibrated monitor at work. So I compared all devices using the monitor as the baseline and the 15 display was the almost identical. While the Xr and iPad both were both cooler than the calibrated monitor. A screen temperature slider in the display settings would be useful, as despite what’s “correct” some people prefer a cooler or warmer display, and we should have that option. The colour filters are a work around, but it’s quite difficult to get displays to match with that as 0% intensity isn’t 0%, there’s still a tint applied, and sometimes 0% is too much in this setting. A slider with neutral in the middle, cool on the left and warm on the right should be included on the screen settings page. Or even better an RGB slider. I wonder why it’s not? I can’t be that they don’t want people messing with the colours and making the phone look bad, as that is already there through the various accessibility options. Strange.

I think it's worth mentioning the display you watch this video on makes a huge difference in what you can take away from the video. I saw the thumbnail for the video on the KZfaq app on my iPhone and could see the different shades of white, but then I started watching the video on my laptop, whose display is capable of displaying far, far fewer shades than my phone's, and the difference was immediate. I can barely tell the difference in the whites of the different displays, from this low-end laptop display.

It’s interesting, the first iPhone 11 I had exhibited a green cast too, and didn’t get that bright. The current replacement device I got through Apple care after a bad drop seems better. I think there was a run of iPhone 11s with faulty displays.

Last time I saw this video I had an iPhone 8, now I got a 11 Pro Max and it has so much yellowish to it, even disabled True Tone and night shift. I had to use color filters just to get real whites and not yellowed whites

my iphone 11 pro I got last week has a severe yellow tint. Even with TrueTone, DarkMode, Night shift, Colour Filter, and autobrightness all off when i compare it to my friend's XS its extremely obvious that the 11 pro is yellow. Looking at the 11 pro at an angle will make the display more blue. Also, when the autobrightess on, the 11 pro is unable to get brighter than the XS. I thought the 11 pro is supposed to be like 100 nits brighter than the XS and the difference is supposed to be obvious! Can someone please tell me what's wrong? Is the yellow tint just a characteristic of the 11 pro and the OLED? should i just return?

Im a photographer who does alot of white background product shoot. Colors on phones matters alot especially when its true white. its best to match your phones screen as your clients device. In most cases, clients use apple

Im very sensitive to color but at the same time a slight bit of inaccuracy compared to other devices doesn’t really bother me

My new iPhone 12 Pro Max came with extreme yellowish green bias to the white out of the box. A lot of people found the same thing, alas (see Apple Forums). I did quite a bit of experimentation and found settings to provide a nice white similar to my 7 plus. With True Tone and Night Shift off, Settings -- Accessibility -- Display -- Color Filters -- Color Tint. Vary the intensity and hue to liking. But man for a few days there I was ready to return the 12 Pro Max. White should not look yellow.

Hi Aaron. You can change the colour temperature on iPhone go to accessibility the display and text size scroll down to colour filters and you can add whatever tint you want I have mine blue tint don’t like the yellow white or True Tone. Hope that helps. Good wallpaper thanks Aaron. Jon 👍📱

Yes, but you can’t adjust it like you can a Mac for example or Samsung phone.

I have an 11 pro max and the display has a noticeable yellow tint to it. It also has a minute off-axis blue shift.

Its an oled display all oleds display do that blue shift its normal and you probably have that true tone shit on or night mode to make that yellow tint

@@noselfcontrol5429 okay this issue was about two years old, but I appreciate the reply. None of the other Apple OLEDs I’ve had suffer from such a drastic off axis shift. I believe the panel in my 11 Pro max was a non Samsung (LG) panel.

I had used an iPhone 6 from Dec 2015-Dec 2019 and when I first got my iPhone XS, I turned True Tone off!

I have 8+ 256go. And i like it a lot. The screen color and black the speed and its larger screen to type more easily. And the touch id so practical when use in the car and more reliable in all condition. also it has very good battery life and is extremely reliable. To me it is the best iphone Apple has made and i will try to keep it as long as i can. I forgot also to say the border are good to held it and the screen rotates horizontally. The iphone11 don’t. Iphone8+ is far superior in every aspect except the camera where iphone11 has the super wide angle but the notch is the most stupid desogn idea. Ever.

I don't know what to buy. An iPhone 11 128GB or iPhone 11 Pro 64GB. It's a 100$ difference. The OLED on the Pro looks so much nicer but then i have 64 GB less space hmm lemme know is it worth it to buy 100$ more just for a better screen? or is it better?

Hi It is possible to change the color of an ios displey by accessing to Settings/accessebility /display & text size /colours filters. You can totaly change the temperature of the screen and the colors right there
