Great call to shout out those young KKR bowlers - that bowling group was such a complete unit by the end of the tournament. Very impressive to watch them grow as the games went on.

I agree lads , KKR young Indian seamers supported Starc well and got the whole bowling going - Had they leaked runs or were bad - Starc would have been under tremendous pressure. The pressure never came off and it was a struggle to score against KKR throughout

Absolutely - and the spinners were fantastic as well, particularly as the tournament went on. Such a well-rounded bowling attack by the end of the tournament. Hard to believe now that we initially thought that might be a weakness for them!

@@thetoporderpodcast Yeah , well nobody expected Vaibhav and Harshit Rana to turn up the way they did and Russell was the best 6th bowler for any team. KKR is gonna have a big problem on their hands for the retention. Heard Starc is looking to return to KKR for next season as well

I think you should research more before commenting on someone like GG...he won us 2 world cups..but surprisingly we remember only Dhoni..he is against this culture and he is absolutely right....one of the best spin playing batters in India and was captain of 2 time IPL winning sides. He brought players like Narine and Russell in kkr...and he is absolutely right about hero worshipping culture of India which made the Indian fanbase pathetic...he is the only one in current scenario who can make us win something important

Our comments were more framed around ‘We’re not sure, what do you think?’ So it’s great to get your views. From the outside it would definitely be fascinating to see how he would get on and how any change to the team culture would be received by the players.

Sunrisers literally won Q2 using their bowling attack. As a KKR fan, liked that you called out Venky and Shreyas's contributions with the bat. However, you were completely wrong regarding Harshit coming into the tournament later than Vaibhav. It was the other way around. Harshit was in form right from the first game (Mayank and Klassen flying kiss celebrations wink wink) while Vaibhav's first game was against DC which our 3rd game this season. Thus, a bit of research is a feedback of sorts from my end. Great podcast and lovely points brought up nonetheless (won't get into GG as it has been brought up in other comments anyways).

How do you think he’d go as India coach?
@rahulsoni-nt4bh

I think he would do wonders but he should be given 100 percent powers because that dressing room is full of egos and they wouldn't want a strong personality like GG GG has that aussie mindset won us two world cup finals and won kkr 3 title 2 as captain 1 as mentor he is like a dhoni figure at kkr h@@thetoporderpodcast

@@thetoporderpodcast as a KKR fan I'd rather he stayed with us for the next 10 years lol. But yeah he's got a bit of Mourinho in him and would be great for India if he's given enough power and doesn't have to bow down to the whims of the BCCI

Was there when you guys were previewing the IPL teams your initial thoughts on my team KKR wasn't satisfactory for me as no one believed in them but me as a loyal fan since 2008 knew what this team could achieve. I was like this ain't the team that we had in past two years it was definitely an improved team with captain Iyer and GG in the mix this time around and finally waited for this podcast to see you guys appreciating the most dominating team to ever play the franchise cricket in the history.

Binksy was there with you from the start but yes a few of us had our doubts at the start of the campaign. They won us over for sure, though, such an impressive performance throughout the tournament and the best part was that it was a real team effort with so many different players contributing throughout the season. Must have been such a delight for loyal fans like you 👏

@@thetoporderpodcastWell the joy of winning won't last for me as the rumours of GG going to be the next head coach of Indian cricket team which personally I don't want as despite being Indian I'm blackcaps and KKR fan. So I don't want to lose him as KKR mentor 😢

Nice! Go the Black Caps! Taking your own teams out of the equation, do you think Gambhir would be a good fit for the India coaching job?

@@thetoporderpodcast well I do think it wouldn't be as easy to coach some of those guys whom he has shared the dressing room once. Too many egos would be hard to coach and there is huge difference in coaching in domestic league or IPL and in international. When he gave his first speech in kkr colours this time around probably around last week of March he said there is no international and domestic, no senior and junior each and everyone would be treated equally, which personally I don't think he can say these types of things in Indian dressing room their are many superstar players whom I don't think would agree to it. It would be a completely different challenge coaching the big names as far as I do remember kumble was head coach of India in 2017 and took them to finals of champions trophy but was sacked as ig Virat wasn't happy with his work ethics and was later replaced by his fav guy shastri. So definitely GG needs to prepare himself for these kind of circumstances as it could even happen that players doesn't want him in the team as their head coach.

17.13 before being judgmental about GG it is important to understand that person. Please watch the recent Aswins Kuttistory Ep8 with Gambhir which was viewed by 1.74 m . Ashwin has beautifully unveiled and presented the true face of GG. It will change your opinion about him.

It certainly wasn’t our intention to be judgemental - rather that we’re fascinated to learn what a range of Indian fans think about him and the prospect of him as a future national team coach. Great suggestion to check out Ashwin’s interview - will do that👍
