I had a Valve Index before moving to Varjo, obviously a huge difference.

It never even crossed my mind to even try to measure it. I had a Valve Index before. Maybe the FoV was slightly better in that but the difference is small. If you do not look at the edges which are blurry anyway you won't even notice it. What is more noticeable is the clarity and maybe the size of the sweet spot. There is no perfect VR headset in my opinion but VR is still my no 1 choice without a question. I do not get into the discussion which one is the best choice. I just share my experience.

Crystal didn't even exist about two years ago when I ordered the Aero. I did follow the company but it had repeatedly failed on promises and roadmaps with mediocre quality at best. However, I was interested in the high FoV but everything Pimax advertises I would double check when the product is actually out. I don't trust Pimax as I trust Varjo. Chinese companies in general tend to promise more than they can actually deliver. That's why I went for Varjo and haven't had any problems with the HMD. Varjo also works with top tier companies with the XR-3 HMD for example. The Aero is a consumer product. I have to admit I'm slightly biased being a Finn but that is not the reason behind my selection. I'm here making occasionally some videos as a reference to fellow sim racers and VR pilots to see how a particular sim works and performs using my kind of setup as a reference what might work for someone else. I don't evaluate or review any HMD models. I leave that to those who do. This is just a hobby for me.

Just heard there is Varjo XR-4 coming up and it's available for prosumers as well.
