@@andrewdobson813that’s not what Russell is saying. He means that war is about the discontinuation of people, of their views and their actions. Evidently the powerful will re-define the state of affairs, as you said, by establishing the powers, views, institutions and so on. But War is not about who is more “just” or “righteous”, it’s about who is “left” to re-establish conditions.

In 1987 I joined the army, Working with an Iranian in Ft Gordon, GA. We were on break. The conversation went to the subject of how to beat America in war. The Iranian made a very interesting statement, that I never forgot. " We already know how to beat America " REALLY? " YES, all we have to do is turn you all against each other " He was right.

Iran has been on sanctions for about a decade now and they are still a strong counter force to everyone, just imagine if Iran is not on sanctions what they would have done? There is more to things than that. No one has used nukes since WWII and we all hope no one will. The nukes are in the back pockets of the countries that have them so they do make a difference. Closest I know of to real world use was India+Pakistan. I recall reading US shared the war game results we got that showed nothing was gained in any theoretical scenarios we ran and things calmed down after that. Cannot be sure this isn't just a story but it sounds about right, doesn't it? 4/20/24

Nope, it a show of Iran missile tech, it took 4 countries to shoot down these missiles, US, UK, France bases and Israel to shoot down the missiles, this is when they sent their low grade missiles and also gave a 10 days notice ahead, they even made it known where they are sending the missiles ...
