Better than dying though. We need to change these bullshit laws. Self-defense is an inherent human right, any laws against self-defense are criminal and must be eliminated and those who enacted the law should be arrested.

It used to be that way here in America too. If you shot someone that had broken into your house, they could sue you, and they very often WON! Now though, many states, including Florida where I live, have laws called "Castle Law, ie. A man's home is his castle", and "Stand your ground". These laws protect people who are defending their homes, family, and property from being sued by criminals for defending themselves.

Javakotka1 That would be decided in a court. But if the invader is a stranger, then obviously they would be guilty. I think it's safe to say that the % of people that would experience the scenario you described would be very small. And as I said, it would be decided in court. At least now the good guys have some laws to protect them, where as before didn't have any.

A similar thing happened to me. I was walking home from university at night and then three guys started following me. I didn't think they would attack me, but they did. They tried to rob me but luckily I had tight pockets plus I was able to break free from a headlock, then they ran away. Sadly I live in Ireland. A country where you can't defend yourself cause you become a criminal. You can't carry knives or ANYTHING on you, without a 'real reason' (funny how self-defense isn't a valid reason, sad actually). The next day I stopped two Gardai (policemen). I asked them if it's legal to carry an extendable baton with you in public (of course hidden). And of course their answer was: It's a weapon so you can't. And then one of them told me 'If there's an issue just call us.' Then I replied (meanwhile laughing) 'I can't call you while I'm being attacked.'. I hate this country's laws. Defending yourself shouldn't be a crime.

I saw a post that said Georgia had released the addresses of every single household that owns guns, and each one was highlighted with a red dot on a map of the state. The entire state was just colored in red. Genius!
@ricks.1092
@ricks.1092 7 жыл бұрын
That's impossible, since how would people (putting the map together) know who has firearms. There's no registration in the State of GA. When you purchase a firearm from the store, the 4473 ATF form stays at the store. And the store is not permitted to release any personal info. A store could lose their FFL license if they did something of that nature. Now, in the State of NY, an organization released a map with a red dot on homes in which people had their CCW license. Which that info is public info if you know where to look.

My mom isn't anti gun, but I just don't think she understands guns. She think mass shootings are more likely in GUN RANGES because everyone has a gun. ( even thought that's the complete opposite of the truth). So whenever my dad takes me shooting she says"You better take a bullet for him". Even though if there was a shooter at a gun range he would get blasted to bits within a second
@iambilly610
@iambilly610 7 жыл бұрын
Haha. She needs to get to the range. The people at the range are better than any people I've met in normal life. I had my target stand blow over after 2min and cease fire for changing targets was every 30 min. So basically i would have to wait 28 min to stand it up. The guy next to me says "shoot at mine with me" the guy let me shoot his target with him until i could go stand mine up. This meant he couldn't tell what shots were his or how he was doing. This was my very first experience at the range. And many more acts of kindness have happened at the range since. People are just friendly. Its a happy environment.

How I wish my country (England) had a similar perception of firearms and their benefits, gun is literally a dirty word, not a word that would be said out loud in so called polite company. Certain sections of European society look down on America as a violent, crime ridden, gun saturated and racially divided country. These foolish people don't see how knife, alcohol related or drug violence is a serious problem in the U.K. Or the ever widening gulf between the Muslim and White populations in Europe. I'm starting to think the U.S is maybe the only truly free country there is.

I couldn't disagree more. The last thing we need here is constant school shootings, mass shootings and the like. I'd sooner defend my home/self/family against a man with a knife than a man with a gun. The UK is far far far 'more free' by any conceivable measure. And I say that as someone who's Mrs is from the mid-west (US) and who has experience in both societies. You have nooooo idea how good you have it Monika.. Good lord.

I'm Canadian. The entire country as a whole is anti-gun, which I find hilarious because there are way more guns per capita in Canada than the U.S. I got in a discussion with a truck driver at my former place of employment, and he was trying to be high and mighty saying that if people walked in his house they would think he was crazy for his hobby. I mentioned I shoot and I airsoft, he immediately started treating me like a criminal mass murderer. "Why do you need guns though? They are only used for killing." and my response was "Why do you need a car that goes 200 mph? Far more people die that way than because of safe legal gun ownership"...

What are gun laws like in Norway?
@fenrir9404
@fenrir9404 7 жыл бұрын
Not all that bad it is pretty liberal for Europe. It could be a lot better though. You have to apply to the police for each gun and you have to have a purpose for each gun like hunting, sport shooting or collection. Semi automatic rifles have to be approved for sale in Norway and are put on a list of approved rifles one for hunting and one for competition. You can have a AR 15 for competitions like IPSC, but they are not legal for hunting . The big problem is we have specifically one bureaucrat who is in a position that he bans whatever he dont like a example is we dont get approval for buying a smith & wesson 500 anymore but a 460 is fine. The only thing we have more liberal than most countries even USA is that suppressors are freely bought from the disk and you can make your own if you want to. That said they wanted to ban them, but our side got many doctors on their side with statistics showing that hunters and shooters were among the highest group with hearing impairments. With that they made the case that it was a matter of public health. It is no restrictions at all for hunting suppressed in Norway. Thats what baffles me about the USA that you have to apply to ATF for buying a god damn tube with some baffles in it. It is a little broken up writing it is a huge subject and things can be easily lost in translation, but if there is some specifics you want to know or other questions just let me know.
@connorrd6707
@connorrd6707 7 жыл бұрын
Fenrir That is interesting. There is an act trying to be passed to make it so we can buy suppressors like we can buy gun, but, I have not heard much from it lately. BTW I think you are getting liberals and conservatives confused. Liberals being the ones who want to ban guns and conservatives being Pro-gun.
@fenrir9404
@fenrir9404 7 жыл бұрын
Oh no i dont mean liberal in context to the US political parties more like in the word it self. When we say liberal in regards to a law or to a point of view over here it means more alike in the lines of relaxed or open. Not to be confused with liberals;-) As in that regard more relaxed in regards to the rest of Europe, but not at all in context to USA. That said just according to gun laws i much prefer living in Norway than in California for instance, those California AR's looks plain ridiculous

My family used to be anti gun for a long time. When I was 17 my uncle took me and my grandpa shooting. My uncle had a Lee Enfield that was brought back from Israel and was used in the War of Independence. Anyway the first gun I shot was that 303 and after the time at the range I tried to convince my mom to let me get a gun when I turn 18 and she was still very scared of guns. I think that's true, and it's how I raised my sons. I showed them what a shotgun would do to a watermelon for a big impression on them when they were 5 and 3. I also told them that could be someone's head and in real life you don't re spawn. For the next thing, I told them that I would show them any gun I had and let them hold it, etc;they only had to ask. And ask they did, but I held up my end of the deal and they never felt the need to sneak around and try to get ahold of any. This allowed me to teach them the safety rules and I would often times reward with a few shots in the back 40. I know now I have 2 sons who know the safe way to handle firearms. I have had loaded weapons stashed all over since they were little, safe in knowing that they knew to not touch unless they asked or in an emergency. Their friends I taught the same way. If you start treating kids like adults and have "grownup" conversations with them, they'll be grownup in their actions. That's my .02 anyhow.
@loadedhot1034
@loadedhot1034 7 жыл бұрын
+Tyler Buchholz yep I agree 100%. I had a teacher come to my house once and she freaked when she seen a shotgun in the corner. I explained to her if kids are accustomed to seeing things like guns around them they do not get curious. I dont even let my kids point play guns at each other because thats not what they are intended for. if you ask my kids what guns are for they will tell you hunting. they are only 8,7,4 so the whole self defence aspect has not hit them yet. we have a fireworks business so they are more interested in how that works than the guns it seems like.

I live in the UK, which makes things difficult to start with, but to top it off my mum is about as anti-any-weapon as it's possible for anyone to be. She didn't like it when I had Nerf guns, let alone the air rifle I currently own; she completely ignores that fact that I use the rifle to make money (killing rabbits for farmers, then selling said rabbits to the local butcher) and simply thinks "SEE GUN. GUN BAD." I can scarcely imagine what she'll say when I get my shotgun license.

I do however have anti-gun friends, that should be another gun gripe for you guys to talk about. Here's my story...I have Liberal friends who don't like the fact that I own lots of guns. They absolutely hate it when I throw facts about firearms in Canada and about how the RCMP calls licensed gun owners the most trusted people in Canada. Long story short... they are ignorant and still believe guns are bad but simply they have no education whatsoever. Just remember guys...a gun is not a weapon, a gun is a tool designed to a launch projectile through a steel tube called a barrel. A weapon is an object that HAS BEEN used to harm or kill a living being.

Canada's gun laws aren't actually as bad as everyone thinks. Sure we don't have "the right" to have our guns but name one country in the world where owning firearms is a right and that right gets respected by their government. It's easy to buy firearms legally here I can walk out of my local gun store with a shopping cart full of guns and ammo faster than Hilary can destroy multiple devices. I don't need to deal with tax stamps for my 12" double barrel shotgun, or pistol grips, collapsible stocks, foldable stocks, SBR's...none of that silly stuff.

Which is total bullshit because we've been robbed 2 times and next time the rut comes around I'm getting my hunting license. Liberty Lover Well, you should probably also explain to your friends why supporting the basic right of human beings to own firearms is not contingent on your ownership of one. One doesn't have to personally play video games to believe that others should be allowed to, nor must one have a driver's licence to believe that Americans should be able to drive. There's a difference between affirming a right and exercising it.

Your friends are tools don't worry about what they say, Jonathan is right. As far as hunting, I don't know what state you live in but mostly likely to hunt you are going to need your parents to sign off on getting your license and you might have to take hunter safety which also might require their signature or possibly one them actually taking it with you. And how are you going to hunt with no gun or vehicle? And also depending on where you live you have to consider getting your small game license, then your deer tags, then how are you going to transport the deer once you kill it and are you going to cut it up yourself or pay to have it processed. And do you have to take it to a check in station where you live? Here in Michigan deer hunting isn't really that cheap when you add everything up. You can do it on the cheap if you have to, but it still might be a struggle for a 15 or 16 year old. The hunt doesn't start and end with shooting the deer. I am assuming you have a friends family that is going to take you hunting and help you out and teach you? Now if you want a gun ask them if you can have one if you save up the money to buy one. Get a paper route, mow lawns and shovel snow, whatever it takes to save up some cash. If you show you are motivated and responsible they might go for it. You will need an adult to purchase the firearm though. And you don't need a lot of money, you can get single shot shotgun or inexpensive pump for under 200 bucks if you look around. Same for .22s. Even less if you want to go with used stuff.

Me: Having a gun is like an insurance policy you don't have car insurance expecting an accident, you buy it hoping you never need it but being prepared. Friend: No one needs a gun and you're more likely to hurt someone else with it. Me: Most people have a threshold where a certain level of bad happens where they will say, "go get the gun" (I liked that part of the story in the video), why wait for that to happen? Friend: Well if that happens we'll see but until then I don't think anyone needs a gun

My mom is anti gun, but oh man, the worst type... I got myself a Crossman 65 Air rifle a while back (2011) for backyard can plinking with my friends (large suburban backyard, so we'd pump it enough to not bust the fences). One day, I'm with my best friend and my brother just setting up some cans, had the air rifle empty and my mom comes out and asks to shoot. I explain to her how the safety works and how you can check if the Air rifle was loaded. There was no BBs or pellets in the chamber, but the safety was disengaged. Once she found that out... she points the air gun at us and waves it around. I snatched it out of her hands while using my palm to cover the barrel. I Don't keep my guns in the house because of her wishes, it's because I honestly worry about her irresponsibility. My dad is gun neutral. He has hunted on business trips, goes target shooting, and has a Benelli Super Nova and Steoger Condor that we use every once in a while for skeet shooting. We only buy ammunition when we need it and rarely keep any in the house... kinda wonder why... -_- TL;DR Mom is anti-gun and insane. Dad is gun neutral and occasionally goes shooting with me.

If you are old enough to own a firearm, you are an adult, and it is your decision alone to make. If you have parents who blackmail you into following their lifestyle or choices, just ignore them. Resisting the pressure and remaining an upstanding and independent adult is what stops them from trying to control you. My wife and I learned the hard way from all the problems we had with our marriage and moving. Now if you still live with your family, perhaps your first priority is to get a job, rent your own house, then when you actually can afford it consider firearms. It's the same case with anything you do - prove independence by relying on your own pocket, and they shut up pretty quick and start to respect you more.

I know the pain. I am 16 and live in NY ( sucks ) and my dad is worse than anti gun, he's not a liberal but he doesn't like guns. At 16 I can legally own a rifle or shotgun and legally own/carry a knife. I can't buy a gun until I'm 18 but I know I won't be able to while still living in the house. I owned several knives, legally I might add, and one day I came home to about 4 of them smashed in my garage with a hammer because he didn't want me to have them, didn't even pay me back the money I spent, my spider co, my ontario rat 1, smashed, so of course I know I can't own a gun until I move out. Outside of the city, people are a lot more realistic. Read up on the New York Safe Act and the non compliance by gun owners that followed it for a good chuckle. So i started watching more IV8888, then i discovered Hickock45, then Matt over at Demolition Ranch. Now im a die hard pro gun supporter but i sadly still do not have many opportunities to start getting into guns. Shoot of a couple for me guys, and thank you both for everything you do, and for enlightening me on guns. Much love from your northern neighbor in Kentucky.

It's funny how Sweden (where I live) is pretty much as leftist/social democratic as it gets, yet we actually have a pretty large gun culture (and 31.6 guns per 100 residents, and 6.5% of the population has a gun license), in spite of all of our over-regulations. Mostly because of hunters, but competitive shooting is quite popular too. I'm thinking of getting into clay shooting myself. Of course, nothing would beat having the second amendment applied in our laws aswell.

I can definitely relate to this. I was at work when my father found my shotgun in my room. My mother called me nd confronted me about it. Fast forward a few years and me moving a few states away, she's glad to have guns in the house.

My mom was also anti-gun. I had acquired a few different long arms after I turned 18 that she was not happy about. A few months after a convenience store was robbed about a mile and a half from my house and the clerk was shot through the neck and the robber was reported to have run into the woods towards our neighborhood. I was asleep and the next thing I know my mom is shaking me awake . I spent the rest of the night sitting up with my shotgun. After that she never had a problem with me having guns in the house.

Anti gun is anti self defense. It is a pro criminal stance that strips law abiding citizens of the right to protect themselves while leaving criminals armed. It is based on the stance that only the government should have the power to take a life and the belief that the power to do so will never be abused. Will some innocent people be killed because of the freedom to own firearms? Absolutely. Would you give up your right to self protection to prevent that? Never. For once you give that right away, you put yourself at the mercy of the merciless.

you guys among other youtubers got me interested in guns, I went to the range a few years ago and been taking dozens of new people to the range and quite a few own guns by now and I'm a part-time range officer teaching new people to shoot guns safely and you created a new gun community here in the Netherlands and hopefully this will lead to a positive change in the gun laws over here which has happened already a few months back. I'll keep introducing people to the sport till the day I die and this started with KZfaq. Thanks

What I don't get. At 15 you can get a driver permit, and at 16 you get a full driver license. Teens and people in general are killed at far higher rate in car wrecks than with firearms and people are perfectly okay with sticking their kids behind the wheel of a vehicle with very little training, but owning a firearm? Nope, too dangerous

My mom is anti gun and thinks that " it's asking for trouble " . I've carried and owned guns for years, one day I was talking to my step sisters be at her house and told him I EDC a pistol and my mom overheard this. She asked even now!! I told her every time I've seen visited I've visited over the years I've been carrying and she didn't know and wasn't in danger. When I've told her a few months later when I was able to keep multiple burglars tried to break in my house and the sight of my gun stopped that while police arrived. She's came around that she doesn't want one but respects that a firearm stopped 5 guys without a shot. She'll never own one but respects why I do in the area I live. She has came around some and it's much easier not living with her. I have used the explanation of a tool and she's understanding of that. I hope she changes her mind but I don't see it. Great video as always guys

Actually the best way to introduce people to guns is really early on, teach them how to use guns safely and properly. That way when they grow up, they have the knowledge and responsibility to have and use them properly. The problems come when people who have no ideas how to handle firearms get them because "they can" and try to be a hot shot or do something cool and end up shooting somebody. Teach kids at a young age how to SAFELY and PROPERLY use firearms and that is how you do it properly.

Had to deal with this issue myself, actually! Was just my mom, and she was rather anti-gun in thought. My first gun I had I inherited from my grandfather, just a simple 22 bolt action rifle. The way I did it was slowly build it up to change her mind. Got her used to the 22, then convinced to her to be able to have a pistol. She got used to having a pistol around the house, explained to her how it works. After a while... then I got myself a semi-auto rifle. She thought scary black rifles were unacceptable at first, but now there is one of them in the house! I honestly think it just stems from a lack of understanding, once they know how it works their minds are changed.
