I'm from Upstate NY, for one this bill wouldn't be an issue if more people from NY got out and voted back in November, and second this bill is just the tip of the iceberg. Many of you are familiar with the SAFE Act, well Gov. Cuomo has stated that he is going to roll out SAFE Act vol 2 which would enact even more restrictions on gun owners in NYS. We already have some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the country, so between this bill and the purposed new volume of the SAFE Act we in NYS are royally boned, and we have no one to blame but ourselves. Gov. Cuomo and most of the NYS senate do not care about our constitutional rights, this isn't just a 2nd Amendment issue rather this is a Bill of Rights issue in NYS. S9191 is a violation of our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights, the red flag laws are a violation of our 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Amendment rights... this is ridiculous! Now I have been righting my Congressmen, my Assemblyman, been signing and passing around petitions, and I voted to try and stop all this, we need more of NYS doing the same!

I bought an AR15 this month mostly because I've been worried about new laws coming out. I had been planning on getting one for over year, but all the hype around new laws finally lit the fire under my bottom. ***Edit*** I'm not a NY resident, I live in PA, where the laws are pretty safe. But after the shooting in Pittsburgh the activists have been out in full force, even though anti gunners are a minority.

I live in PA and I have to say it's one of the best states to live in as a firearm owner, you should attend the rallies we have in the capital, the one we had back in April/May after the Florida shooting packed the capital building to capacity. Check out forum.pafoa.org to see that gun owners/freedom lovers are in the majority here.

@@cruelchris3099 PA gun laws are some of the least restrictive in the country. You can get a license to carry with a simple back ground check and open carry without a permit. Make sure you know the law before you comment.

With ak-47's & ar15 & many modern sporting rifles being previously classified as "small arm's", These day's being hysterically called "weapon's of war" & "assault weapon's". I would also consider a larger caliber designed for war like a mosin or any military surplus firearm but, The prices have grown outrageously w/mosin, ak, sk. My thought is simply, Why not get a firearm that is built to withstand the riggers of war. Personally, I have always wanted a Bar & a BMG.50 but, My finances are NOT aligned with my wants!!!

Today I believe it starts in our Public Schools then at to many Colleges , it`s what our children are being taught , then not taught . I'm in California & while I'm conservative I refuse to vote down party lines for the sake of "voting with my party." Plain & simple, the best candidate, IMO, receives my vote. I’m in Chicago where we have FOID cards. I just changed address and had my firearm owner ID card suspended as well as my CCW for 90-120 days for Illinois State to process my request. It took 2 months and I finally have my FOID back... in the mean time I was literally unable to possess my own firearms and was prohibited from buying ammo or gunpowder for reloading or even shooting at a range. Such a severely flawed system. We need to be politically active to protect our current rights from eroding further

None of your Buisness 100% agree. FOID is nothing but a revenue generator for the state and does absolutely nothing to prevent crime or provide a filter to catch delinquents that the standard background check and 4473 doesn’t already do. Unfortunately most people in Illinois think it’s a ‘reasonable’ device to have in place meanwhile I literally cannot conceal and carry because the state takes 60-90 days to reissue my CCW for a damn address change
