I'm turning the Feywild into a playable realm for our Dungeons and Dragons campaign, focusing in this video on encounters inspired by the Irish poet W.B. Yeats!
Thank you as always, and comment below any Feywild or D&D topics you want to see me cover!

You should take a look at the background history of WB Years. He has an interesting personal history. He was a member of an occult order known as the Hermitic order of the Golden Dawn. He even was planning to create his own Irish occult order using Irish folklore and mythology. He had a love for Irish myth and magical lore.

I absolutely love the idea of using poetry for world building. It really drives home the imagery and pathos of a world then just reading the lore like a history text book. I’ve been reading “Not a Lot of Reasons to Sing but Enough” and it’s a book of in character, in fiction poems and prose and I just adore it. Definitely going to steal this method of exposition.

My thoughts exactly! We’re building stories with life, and poetry exemplifies that life beautifully.

Yay! I'm so glad you're back! Congratulations! I'm definitely putting the beery lad in my game. In my Midgard game (with all of the syncretized gods), the players went to a bonfire in the woods to celebrate the birth of The Spring Mother. The player from Olympia saw Persephone in the fire. The player from Niflheim saw Freya. The other two players just saw blossoming flowers and sunshine. To be fair, the characters had also eaten some magic mushrooms that they got from a Firbolg so (shrug). The Niflheim character, Nymeria, asked around about where to get more magic mushrooms. A man with a goat head told her that the Morrigan has some but that he didn't recommend seeking her out. Nymeria wandered off to find more mushrooms, and found a blue glowing one. When she cut it, she heard it scream. As she carried it back to the party, she heard it giggling. None of the other characters noticed the mushroom acting like anything other than a glowing mushroom. Plot hook! Dun dun duuuuuuuun!

Glorious! I can't wait to see the Feywild fully unfold by your hand! Thank you so much for inspiring us and sharing your encounters ideas! Words can not express how much gratitude, but actions and more access to knowledge might come a bit closer...therefore: Given the passion and direction you are going I highly recommend the Encyclopaedia of Celtic Wisdom by Caitlin and John Matthews. Super authentic, well written, easy to read, bounce around stories and as close to being taught from the oral tradition as one can these days without knowing direct teachers (^^,)

After watching a couple of your videos if I may make a suggestion: have a sandbox video. That meaning just a free-form amount of time to come up with some unique ideas for dnd characters both protagonists and antagonists, somebody's and nobodies, monsters and tiny pests, anything your heart desires bc it's ALL useful for us out here in search of ideas for our own games!

Do you think you’d be more likely to watch something like that in the form of a KZfaq video or livestream?
