Excellent response by Bruce Dickinson and Steve Harris. As a Maiden fan, I do not care if they make it or not. In fact, out of my favourite bands, I really do not know which are or aren’t in the R&R HoF yet! I do not need any approval from some old business directives or bureaucrats who say which bands are best in R&R because they feel they are authorities in music.

I live Judas Priest. Their induction was a slap in the face at them and the metal community. The RRHF should be ashamed.

I feel like The Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame should be renamed. There’s far too many not Rock ‘N Roll acts in there. The fact that Iron Maiden, Alice In Chains, and so many other notable ROCK acts aren’t in there makes the name sound misleading.

Jann Wenner - Founder of Rolling Stone Magazine and Co-Founder of the RRHOF is the reason. He is known for his bias against artists for whom he has a dislike towards their music. In 1976 he wrote an article trashing Geddy Lee in his magazine saying he sang like a girl and all you can hear when he opens his mouth is "Blah Blah Blah...." and that the band Rush would never achieve any sort of success . It took over 20yrs of eligibility before Jann finally caved to the pressure of the fans and Rush was inducted. The famous "blah,blah,blah speech given by Alex Lifeson was a big Fk YOU to Jann Wenner. So far Styx, Foreigner, Boston, REO Speedwagon and many others are not in because Jann personally dislikes their music. The RRHOF is a popularity contest. Case in Point: Kate Bush Kate's debut album dropped in 1978 making her eligible for induction in 2003 yet has never been nominated. Her song "Running Up That Hill" was recently featured in the show Stranger Things and due to massive response to the song in 2022 ... wouldn't you know it? A nomination and induction the very next year. This is how the hall works. It always has and always will as long as Jann Wenner is at the helm. The members of Iron Maiden may very well be dead before they ever get included in the future.

I think rock and metal band should make their own Metal Rock Award without include any kind of people that has no knowlegde about music.

I also find it weird they are inducting Rage Against the Machine(who are awesome by the way). Rage only had 4 albums and the band only lasted I believe 9 years from the time they formed in 1991. Iron Maiden 17 albums & 13 Live albums and been together for 40 years. Just change the name of the hall of fame and they wouldn't get all the backlash

Bruce came to our factory (Boeing) a few years ago. And although I wasn't there to see it, he put on a presentation about how much he loved flying the 747. "Ed Force One" had been seen on the flightline as their tour bus. Screw the r&r hall of fame, they are the official heavy metal of Boeing.

Just the fact that few of the inductees are actually rock and roll, says much about the Hall. Maiden deserves to be in the Hall more than many who are already in there. What about bands like Blue Oyster Cult? They deserve it without a doubt, but have never even been nominated. There is definitely something very wrong with the process!

Just the fact that so many artist that dont play Rock´n roll are inducted makes the whole idea of a Rock´n roll hall of fame pretty pointless, either just call it "Music Hall of fame" or similar or just start a different one for other kinds of music and have only Rock´n roll related music in the Rock´n roll hall of fame.
