The Ridgeline is by far the best pickup on the market. It's the Goldilocks of trucks... Not too big, not too small but sized to do what 95% of all truck owners need. It hauls 4x8 sheets of building material flat in the bed. And let's be honest, nobody takes a $50k new truck off road. That is reserved for owner 2 or 3.

We own one for our Farm family hauling , daily driving, and light farm towing. No, I can't pull a 30- foot loaded down gooseneck cattle trailer with it, but thetvis what my full-size pickup is for. The Honda Ridgeline is the most comfortable (front and rear), best driving, highly reliable, and most utilitarian pickup currently on the market. Practicality and comfort are there, hands down. I just wish they'd come out with a hybrid with a 7500# tow rating. I'd buy one as soon as I had the financial ability. Great review guys! Now show the folks what it can do offroad. TFL has proven it iut, now it is your turn!

My wife has a 2019 Ridgeline. 49,000 miles it has been pretty dependable. Couple recalls on hood and bed door latches and two bigger ones on fuel pump. One time fan didn’t turn off when she got home, had to disconnect fuse and replace next day. Otherwise good and solid. It has the six speed transmission. I recommend this vehicle.

Call it a car, or truck or something in between... it still functions like how most "truck" owners actually use their truck. If you can get over the ego of most large truck owners, it will do the job that most "truck" owners perform. It tows our boat just fine, and rides well. I don't offroad, so not a problem. Good job Honda!

I opted for the 2024 Pilot Trailsport and I owned a pickup for many years. It was a personal choice but a tough decision to make going to a 3 row SUV vs Pickup. No regrets so far. If the new 2024 Ridgeline had the same options including engine, transmission, Ivtm4 system, skid plates, all terrain tires and lift as the 2024 Pilot I think the Ridgeline would be sitting in my driveway instead. I really hope the Ridgeline Trailsport would do a refresh incorporating the 2023 Pilot Trailsport options. Both are great vehicles and great job Honda. Thanks for the review!

Lol the ivtm4 tq vectoring diff is on all awd v6 Honda vehicles, trail sport is just different tire and a small oil pan skid. The bed panel is not one piece with the cab either 🙄 that gasket is there because those pieces are separate. Honda did this to make repairs easier and cheaper.

It’s ugly. It’s a ute not a truck. I’d never buy one because they took out the flying buttress which was essential to towing performance per Honda engineers themselves to make it look more like a truck then they stuck on a car front end to waste all that effort and sacrifice. I’d love to have one because it’s the smart choice but they screwed up gen 2 aesthetically and structurally. Here’s hoping there’s a gen 3 and it looks more like the 1 but is a hybrid.

I don't think people care. Call it what you want. Ridgeline is pretty good. That's why more trucks are being manufactured without the traditional body-on-frame. It's a better daily truck.

@trl1980

@JamiefromHali Not going to argue your truck supremacy, time will do that. Pickup designs are modern now. Look at the new EVs. Unibody/UTE format allows pickups to fully utilize the total length (think gear tunnel).
@trl1980
@trl1980 8 күн бұрын
@JamiefromHali Daily meaning your primary driving. Im 100% on the streets/pavement. Unibody gives you a smoother ride--Why wouldn't you want that?? Unless you're off-roading and towing every day, then yes, body-on-frame would suit those driving conditions. Just being real.
@edhughes1591
@edhughes1591 7 күн бұрын
@@JamiefromHalibody on frame is only better for heavy work or off-road, which isn’t the point of a ridgeline. Unibody makes for a much better ride and safer vehicle

The Ridgeline is cool but it’s not a truck. This vehicle does not offer a 4x4 transfer case, no solid rear axle, not a body on frame design, no front or rear lockers. To real world consumers that are considering this vehicle, they are comparing this to the Maverick or Santa Fe. Not a real truck

I just traded my Silverado for a Ridgeline. I can assure you.. its just as much of a truck as any of the competitors. In fact, its probably a more capable truck than most of its competitors.
@TheLevergunBum
@TheLevergunBum 19 күн бұрын
I'm running a vintage 4Runner and Land Cruiser. About the most capable off road rigs to ever hit U.S. shores. The Ridgeline is not a replacement for a dedicated offroader or large displacement, on-frame, 4x4 truck. It is, as the creators opine, and many of us agree, an ideal compromise for the vast majority of people in North America, urban and suburban-based, who want a car/truck i.e. "cruck," that can do most of the tasks assigned to it, and do so fairly well.
@ryanb8736
@ryanb8736 19 күн бұрын
It is a pickup truck because it has a bed. Not having a full axle is a great thing. Independent rear suspension is what makes it drive and handle great. Full frame trucks bounce around. They also fold up in an accident. The unibody construction is more solid and durable. 4 wheels drive with transfer case is great for Rock crawling. For bead weather on long drives, 4 wheel drive gets hot and you are not supposed to drive over 40. AWD is meant for severe bad weather driving. No overheating like 4 wheel drive. No having to replace transfer cases neither. Ridgeline truck owners are owners that had other brands. It’s the most popular truck people buy coming from full frame trucks. That’s why they love these. They drive comfortable and quiet. Drives through blizzard storms with ease. The AWD system is amazing. I used to make fun of them till I borrowed my friends last year. I was amazed how cool it is and how great it drove.

I traded in my Toyota tundra trd pro for this. This is better ride, better fuel economy, more safety features, better storage, easier to park, almost same payload capacity, better build quality than my tundra, took it same dirt trails when I had my tundra and Ridgeline rides better and does almost 85 percent of truck things my tundra did and it’s 20 cheaper too

This truck has been used on a farm that has a hair over 1k acres, it's been used on another farm with 440, and one with 80. Every farmer I've helped with it or let use it has loved it. These arnt people who watch reviews though. One has a $100k truck and liked it I've taken it on many back country hunting trips and it's done fantastic off road. It's also made possible for me to basically renovate my entire house, and deck. Seems like a truck to me. Also seems like a truck to the farmers who actually use their truck daily to do truck things in conditions that only trucks can handle. I'll take their opinion over the majority of people who rag on it who only go to home Depot and live in a city. And those who only watch reviews on trucks, Vs actually use them. And I mean actually use them. Not the occasional off road trip or the occasional boat haul or the occasional trip to pickup pads from home Depot. I'm a fan of my man van.
