How big is TOO big for a phone? 🤔🫣📱
We have even more iPhone rumors and these ones point to the iPhone 16 Pro Max/Ultra (thats right, the 16 which is over a year away) having a massive 6.9 inch display, up from 6.7 inches currently 👀
This begs the question: what do you think the perfect size is for a phone screen?

…um no. Obviously you don’t know how AMAZING it is to play games on a proper display, especially with the fact that the iPhone is basically an official console now. AAA console games are finally being ported over with ray tracing capabilities, and the bigger battery is also a huge plus for those. Think of it like having a Nintendo Switch. You wouldn’t want a smaller screen on that. This is no different. I used to think the same as you, but times have changed. A big screen is pretty cool anyways. You’d feel different seeing it in person-and the phone really isn’t as big as you’d expect. It does still feel like a really compact device/console for what it is

I already hate the current size of phones. I want them to bring back the mini, the current standard phone sizes already a max. The innovation of phones was always to make them smaller to fit in your pocket easier, all I'm seeing is that my phone is so big it weighs down my pocket😂

I’m an 6’4” so a 6.9 iPhone would literally feel smaller than the average person using the 6.7. I have the 15 pro max and I can use one hand at any corner. 6.9 iPhone would be a huge upgrade for me. It also adds more real estate for larger cameras.

I use my phone with a case and like having something pocket friendly the pro at 6.1 inches is just right for me. I can use it with one hand and the screens is plenty big enough for me

I have large hands but I love the iphone mini form factor. I'm upgrading to 15 pro for the cameras but I'll miss the form factor and ease of use. I would jump the ship if there's a mini comeback in upcoming years

A typical 6.7 inch phone doesn't even fit in my pants pocket. I would have to carry it in a bag or a brief case, which is not ideal, especially if it rings.

Genuinely uncomfortable, much rather a phone that disappears when I don't need it and isn't too invasive when I need to you it. The fact that I still have to use both hands to make it usable is absurd.

6.3"-6.5" is ideal for me (with no bezels). Big enough to watch videos or use the web, but not so big it's awkward to handle. I remember when anything over 5" was called a phablet though.

If 16 pro will be a little bigger then 15 pro (6.3) I think will be the perfect size for big handed boys. My 15 pro is 6.1 and feels good but a bit bigger I feel will be perfect. 15 pro max is already too much

Commenting from 2024. We've seen major leaks so far and it is a top rumor that the pro max/plus models will be 6.9 inches. And while that is good for some people, apple should really discontinue the pluses and re-add the minis.

I'm a big hands guy too. I had a 4s that was way too small, a 7+ that was okay but too much thin, a 11 that was great but a bit too thick compared to the 7+ (for real, the shape of the IPhone 11 was top notch). Now I'm on a 15PM that is perfect

I used the XR then 12 and now 15 Pro, so it’s pretty easy to tell that I like 6.1” phones. Especially the 15 Pro which has more rounded corners and is also a bit smaller compared to 12 is super comfy for me and when I heard that 16 Pro is going to be 6.3”, I felt one of many impulses to buy the 15 now.

I would love this change. I’ve always liked larger phones, in some ways bigger isn’t always better but to me personally, when it comes to my phone. Bigger is better. I’m not a person who upgrades every year just cuz, but I went from the base 13 to the 14 pro max as soon as it dropped literally just cuz the 14 pro max is bigger and I couldn’t upgrade from the base 13 to the 13 pro max so I waited til the 14 pro max came out. The store I went to didn’t even have it at first so they offered me the 14 pro and I was like “nah I only want the pro max cuz it’s a bigger display the normal pro doesn’t really intrigue me” so they ordered me my pro max

Plus I feel like, for those who want a small phone they have the base model and the base sized pro, and then for those who want big phones…why not make em bigger for a change? For those who like tiny phones Apple had the mini for a little bit, so why not do the same for the larger models. Make a larger for a year or 2 (or forever i wouldn’t complain)

Times have changed. The iPhone is now capable of playing console games with ray tracing once they release, so a phone that small not only wouldn’t have a battery good enough to handle them, but playing games like that on a screen that small isn’t feasible either

At that point, just turn the iPad mini into the iPhone Ultra. Keep the Apple Pencil support, make it thicker for larger batteries, add 120Hz LTPO OLED Display, and several more upgrades like USB4 and Apple is golden!

i honestly think that the iPhone has reached its "best" big phone size. the current one is about 160 mm which is perfect for me, my current phone is 163 mm and its 99% perfect for my slim but large hands, but its only 6.5 in. if they go 6.9/85 it would prolly be close to 163 mm as well but it would definitely feel massive

As a s24 ultra owner. I think 6.8 inch is the best. Sometimes I feel like its too big, sometimes I feel that its just fine and perfect. So anything more than that I think will stay on 6.7 and 6.8..

I’m fine with the big phones, but at some point it’s got to fold. Else it’s just annoying having it in a pocket.

pros of small: one handed usage, pocket friendly pros of big: better general specs if something has to be adjusted on the phone to fit you or vice versa something is definitely wrong. you do not just need to get bigger, phones need to get smaller again instead.

5.8 inch( iPhone X, Xs and 11 pro size) is the best phone size, 6.4 should be the absolute max a phone should be, any bigger and it’s essentially an iPad mini

How about we get rid of the notch/ hole punch and do what oneplus 7 pro did or put the camera behind the display!!!

Personally I feel there should be a variety of phone sizes. I don’t like large phones as I like to be able to one hand mine but some people may love having bigger phones. I would love it if Apple came out with a mini phone again. Some may argue that Apple scrapped the iPhone mini because the sales were significantly lower than the base, pro and pro max iPhones but then why don’t they just create fewer of the mini phone?
